WHO WE SERVE & WHAT WE DO
Founded in 2010, Kids’ Orchestra has dedicated 14 years of service to providing accessible music education, academic enrichment, Social Emotional Learning, and healthy snacks to at-risk students in South Louisiana. In the 2023-2024 school year, KO provided 1,493 music lessons across 21 sites to over 1,000 students. Students receive an average of 52 hours of music instruction and 26 hours of SEL activities per year for a total of 53,531 hours of individual instruction.
WHY AFTERSCHOOL
11.3 million children are alone and unsupervised after school. Afterschool programs like Kids' Orchestra keep kids safe, help working families, and inspire learning. Our afterschool music program helps children build skills that prepare them for future success.
