We would like to announce that after years of our one and only video on this channel being demonetized with literally zero explanation as to why, and our continued efforts to appeal this punitive action that was taken against us (which as you can imagine has negatively impacted us in many ways beyond monetarily), YouTube has FINALLY decided to reverse this decision after our latest attempt to appeal.
As you can see from the email they sent back to us: this was all just an automated response and we're still left wondering how and why it even happened to begin with. So basically... now that the video has outlived its virality, it has suddenly become re-eligible for monetization without us needing to apply any edits to specifically make it eligible again?
Golly gee, thanks - I guess??
Anyways... we're still pressing them for more details on this situation. Will honestly be surprised if we ever get an honest response, let alone a response from an actual human for that matter, but we'll be sure to keep y'all updated if/when that ever happens.
In the meantime: considering our video is once again eligible for monetization, it would help a LOT if you (our 16K deprived subscribers who we definitely don't deserve at this point) would be willing to do us another undeserved solid and re-watch our video and make sure to leave a comment to get the analytics rolling on it again.
We're also announcing that after much debate with our friend who filmed the video: we're turning OFF the filter that we put on the comment section to protect him and his family from all of the disturbing and truly disgusting things that people were saying about them. His children are grown adults now, and enough time has passed to where we're all comfortable with removing the filter to help boost what little monetization this video may have left.
So yes... to all of our trolls: this is an admission of "guilt". We HAVE been selectively removing your comments - it was almost like a full-time job for us considering how many comments a video with over 3M views produces, but that was never any sort of secret in the first place as we've been fully transparent about that from the start.
And back to directing our attention to our loyal subscribers where it belongs: this is also a notice of warning that the floodgates of hate have been opened on this channel, so we hope you're prepared for that but we won't blame you if you decide to unsubscribe because of it.
If you didn't know: me and my family are simply volunteers who help manage this channel and we decided to put the burden of moderating the comments on ourselves for years in an effort to simply help the mental state of our friends who were going through a difficult time in their lives so removing this filter will be a huge weight off of our shoulders as well! You should also know that this channel was registered entirely in his name, not ours so 100% of any proceeds go directly to our friend who recorded the video and his family as it always has and always will be!
Thanks to all of you for sticking through all of this nonsense with us. We're truly humbled to still have any subscribers left at all by this point.
We can't say thank you enough to our amazing viewers for helping us reach such amazing milestone for on our channel by clicking the "Like" button, subscribing, and sharing our video.
Celebrate this awesome achievement with us by clicking the "Thanks" button on our video to send us a "Super Thanks" which will help us achieve our next goal of setting up a studio to produce more content for this channel, and ultimately create a new 1A auditing community to help impact positive changes in policing and government accountability all across the world.
Here's a link to a video that explains what "Super Thanks" are and how to buy them: https://youtu.be/R8TwsinAfzQ
Great news for those of you who would like to support our channel! You can now click the "Thanks" button on our video, and any future videos to come! In addition to creating a studio like we mentioned before, we're strongly considering the potential to turn this channel into a 1A auditing / copwatching community as well! Then we might finally be able do something to make a positive change with our 15K followers who we appreciate very much for their support, and for sticking with us through the years - even though we've only provided a single video to you guys so far.
We clearly have some public officials in need of some accountability all over the country, and we aim to do something about it. We can only make this happen with your support so click the "Thanks" button today and help us get there!
We looked into starting a Patreon, but we decided against it due to all of the excessive fees involved. We may create a website at some point and do this on our own instead. Then we would only have to worry about normal processing fees. Thanks again for sticking with us and we're looking forward to bringing you all some more content in the future.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention one other thing...
Our video hit 3 MILLION VIEWS!!! Can you believe it? It's now gone viral 3 times! However, it got labeled as "controversial" right as it started going viral the first time, and when they finally let it be monetized again, it was only "limited" ads so we've barely made anything at all for publishing this video. That's why we really need your support, and we're happy that there's finally an avenue for you guys to do just that!
One of the many reasons this channel has not seen an update in several years was to protect the identity of the children and the family portrayed in the video. However, we are pleased to let you all know that no children were ever taken from their parents as a result of the incident in the video. The family did continue to be harassed and endured a lot of struggles - all because they decided to stand their ground when it came to their constitutional rights and this should NEVER have to be the case in America or anywhere else in the free world for that matter. Suspicion does not constitute a crime!
The children in the related "incident" are now grown and the family is no longer being harassed and they are all closer than they have ever been and much stronger for it after going through everything they went through together ranging from the intense mental stress brought on from this "anonymous" report, to judgmental behavior from neighbors seeing the police parked in front of their home on several occasions, to conflicts with coworkers from caseworkers with an axe to grind showing up unannounced to the workplace and causing a disturbance on more than one occasion, to conflicts with friends and family who quickly received word of these allegations and formed their own incorrect assumptions as word spreads fast in a small town, to the comments here on YouTube saying all sorts of disgusting things directed towards the father and family and even death threats.
Another reason you haven't seen an update is because YouTube stopped monetization for the video right as it started to go viral and when we finally received our first check for ad revenue which as you can all imagine, made us quite disgusted with YouTube in general and we sort of gave up on the whole idea of this channel for a while. For that, we sincerely apologize to all of our subscribers who are here to support us and we want to let you all know that we intend to do better.
We have an idea on how to get more content flowing on this channel and we would like your input on whether or not you guys would be willing to help make this happen. We would like to set up a studio for recording/editing more videos covering topics on police/government accountability from other YouTube channels and online sources and we would like to also get out there and join the first amendment auditing community by recording more of our own interactions with police and public servants and putting them here on this channel for everyone to see!
All of this takes money though - money we would have had by now if YouTube did not cut off our ad revenue as that was what we intended to do with these funds anyways. We THINK we may have finally resolved the issues that YouTube had with our channel and we've just joined the YouTube Partner Program as well so hopefully, we'll be able to resolve such issues in a more timely manner in the future.
We have learned not to completely depend on YouTube though so here's what we're proposing: you guessed it - a Patreon page! We don't want to just start one up without getting your feedback first though so please respond to the following poll and let us know if you have any ideas on how you would like to see the membership "tiers" structured, or what kind of rewards you'd like to see, or if you have any ideas in general that you think we might benefit from. We would also like to hear your reasons for not helping us achieve our cause (other than the obvious financial restraints that many of us have in this economy) because we want to learn how we can potentially do better in the future to earn your support!
