Over the past week, US President Donald Trump πΊπΈ has sparked a fresh row with Denmark π©π° after he appointed a special envoy to Greenland π¬π±.
Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has made his interest in annexing Greenland clear, citing its strategic location and mineral wealth.
Greenland, home to about 57,000 people, has had extensive self-government since 1979, though its defence and foreign policy remain under Danish control.
Opinion polls of Greenlanders show overwhelming opposition to becoming part of the US. But what do they want for their homeland?
Many in Greenland desire to move beyond being an autonomous territory within Denmark's orbit to become a fully independent sovereign state.

Two civil wars between 1989 and 2003 have traumatised Liberian society.
More than 250,000 people died, thousands were forced to carry out inhumane acts as child soldiers, and countless war crimes were never brought to justice.
Today, another war is ravaging the country: the synthetic drug Kush is ruining lives, with one in four people in Liberia thought to be addicted.

πΊ Watch next: Inside History: The Nuremberg Trials πΊ
In November 1945, the world turned to the German city of Nuremberg, where Nazi leaders were to be held accountable for their crimes against humanity, in the first international trial of its kind.
Hundreds of journalists from across the globe lived together for months in a designated castle as they reported from the courtroom.
The evidence against the leaders of the Nazi regime was overwhelming, but as the Cold War started, it became a race against time for justice at Nuremberg.
80 years later, this two-part documentary gets to the heart of the βtrial of the centuryβ.

Are bicycles a danger to pedestrians? π³
More cyclists π΄ββοΈ on the streets of European cities seems like good news for easing traffic π and fighting air pollution.
But it seems to be bad news for pedestrians, πΆββοΈ with an increase in accidents involving walkers and bicycles.
Complaints of cyclists ignoring red lights π¦ and zebra crossings are rife, leading many to ask the question: are cyclists just too reckless?
πΊ To find out more, check out 'Bicycles - A Danger to Pedestrians?', a report from the bike-friendly cities of Amsterdam and Berlin, here π https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sqiI...

Every year, survivors of a refugee tragedy that shook Europe in 2013 meet on Lampedusa.
There, on October 3 2013, a rickety trawler carrying asylum seekers from Eritrea and Somalia capsized a short distance off the island. Only 155 people survived, while 368 people drowned.
Fisherman Vito Fiorino was able to pull 47 people out of the water, saving their lives. Many of those rescued visit their new "father" Vito on the anniversary.
Discover their story in our film 'Shipwrecked on Lampedusa', here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkkLo...
