This channel is dedicated to history, military history and things of interest. It all started with a conversation, over whatsapp, between Charlie and I. I was in Normandy at the time, on the 80th anniversary of D-day, Charlie told me about his Great Uncle, James Matthew Schablik.
James was killed on the 28th December 1944, he is buried in the US military cemetery in Hamm Luxembourg. I will be visiting James's grave in December.
Andy Adkins has been extremely helpful and supportive. His book "You Can't Get Much Closer Than This" has proved invaluable as has his help and support. www.80thdivision.com/
Guy Eisen, from the Musee National d'Histoire Militaire, has also been very helpful and given me permission to video around the museum. I will be visiting there in late December. https;//www.mnhm.lu
In November there is a reunion in Thionville, France for the Moselle River 1944 Association. I will be attending for the 80th ID www.moselleriver1944.org/fr/invitation.html

One of my favourite countries to visit. The history, the people and the food are all wonderful.
The Dutch resistance during World War 2 consisted of various groups and organizations. Some notable names include the Binnenlandse Strijdkrachten (BS), which was a unified organization of resistance groups, and the Landelijke Organisatie (LO), which focused on providing aid to those in hiding. Other groups include the Orde Dienst (OD), the Raad van Verzet (RVV), and the Nationaal Comite (NC). Additionally, smaller, local groups and pre-war political parties also contributed to the resistance efforts.
5th May 1945 - On this day the Netherlands was fully liberated from Nazi German occupation. Here are some pictures of Dutch resistance members who fought against fascism and helped liberate their country:
