SAARKIE BAND
Formed in 2005, SAARKIE is a high-energy South African rock band known for their captivating performances and genre-blending sound in Afrikaans and English. Led by founding member Adèle Fouché (Lead Singer, Guitar), the band now features Sam Commons on bass and Jaco Kock on drums, bringing fresh energy and a dynamic new rhythm to the trio.
With five albums under their belt and numerous awards, including the 2018 Ghoema Award for Best Rock Album, the 2023 Afri-Indie Awards for Best Alternative Music Video and Best Live Rock Performance, and the 2024 Afri-Indie Award for Best Adult Contemporary Single, Saarkie is set to release their new single, Ballade van 'n Boemelaar, on November 1st, 2024.
