I know January is a month where everyone is chasing the ‘fresh start,’ and beating themselves up trying to achieve it.
In fact, I’m having conversations about this every day with my 1-on-1 online fitness coaching clients.
It’s important to stay as grounded as you can in the pursuit of a health or fitness goal, especially since we all want fast progress.
Here’s a few things to remember…
👉 Progress is going to take 2-3 times longer than you want.
Sure, it would be great to lose 15 pounds in a month, but that’s not realistic. And quick results like that don’t last anyway.
👉 Slow and steady wins the race.
I know, I know. That’s super cliche.
But it’s true. The slow and steady approach is what leads to long-term success.
If the process feels a little bit slow, that’s actually a good thing. Lean into it.
👉 Chasing perfection is chasing failure.
You should never expect yourself to be 100% on point with diet and exercise all the time.
Yes, I want you to be consistent and stick to your goals.
But life happens. Interruptions occur. And your ability to roll with the punches will determine your fate.
👉 There’s no deadline for your health.
This is a forever pursuit.
Finding ways to stay consistent and find joy in the process of getting 1% better every day is the real unlock to a lifetime of better health and fitness.
These are the lessons I always come back to, no matter the season or year.
I hope this helps! And if it did, share it with a friend who needs to hear this, too :)
Hi, I’m Chris! If you’re new here, here’s my introduction 😀.
1️⃣ I’m a husband to a beautiful wife & father to 3 beautiful girls.
2️⃣ I’m an online fitness coach! I help fellow parents lose weight, build muscle & burn fat so they can keep up with their demanding careers AND kids.
For me, my interest in fitness started at a young age, but my progress didn’t occur until far later in life.
I was always a very skinny kid & suffered from a heavy dose of body dysmorphia.
For the longest time, I convinced myself I couldn’t be the healthy, fit, muscular person I wanted to be.
I always fell victim to classic “fad diets” & influencer workout programs.
I did what looked cool, or what people promoted as the “secret nobody knew about.”
And none of it worked.
I convinced myself I couldn’t make progress.
Maybe you’ve experienced that, too…
You try fasting, or keto, or HIIT workouts, and the results are short-lived (or non-existent).
I’ve run my body into the ground more times than I ever want to admit, & for the longest time I hated exercise.
Nutritionally, I let bad habits pile up until I developed a binge eating disorder. I’d be super strict during the week, only to burn out & binge on pizza, beer, & every snack I could get my hands on over the weekend.
After countless failed attempts to build muscle, burn fat, & look & feel the way I wanted, I decided to take a different path on my 27th birthday.
I wanted to be a husband. A father. A good example for my family.
But I wasn’t embodying ANYTHING I believed in.
So instead of hopping on another trend, I invested my time & effort into learning about training & nutrition.
I found that a flexible approach was the REAL “secret” that I couldn’t find earlier in life.
Once I started living more flexibly & focused on sustainable results instead of rapid progress…
That’s when my progress skyrocketed! 🚀
Fast forward 10+ years to today… I have a master’s degree in health & fitness & have been coaching since 2018.
I have the privilege of helping other moms & dads avoid many of the pitfalls I experienced.
We work together every single day to make progress that sticks for life.
That’s my story so far 😊 Thanks for following along!
All of the details are on that page. And in this post, I have a ton of cool stuff to share.
Use the code CGF10 and you can get started for just $10 👀
1⃣ Let's start with the concept: Fitness and sports.
Those are my 2 biggest passions, and I know many of you share them, too.
In Training Camp, we'll participate in both fitness and sports challenges each month to keep things fun, and also push you to develop the right habits.
For instance, as a group we may compete against one another in a step count challenge.
We'll also do weekly football pick 'em throughout the football season as a fun community builder.
And I'll be awarding prizes like home gym equipment, supplements, etc. to all winners.
Every workout program will incorporate sport-specific exercises as well.
Not to turn you into a football player, or anything like that.
The goal is to help you feel healthier and more athletic, because athleticism translates well into overall health and longevity.
2⃣ Now let's talk about the insane amount of support that's built into Training Camp.
Because myself and the community will be there for you every step of the way.
From workout programs to Q&A's, and everything in between, the guesswork will be completely eliminated.
Each week, we'll do a live Q&A where I'll answer quite literally any questions you have.
• Curious about the monthly workout program? • Need help with your diet? • Struggling to lose weight? • Need help game planning for an upcoming trip?
Get help for whatever you need.
The workout programs are fully scalable to fit your busy lifestyle.
Each month, you'll get a new program. And you'll be able to pick between 2, 3, or 4 day versions.
There will also be a program for training at home with dumbbells, as well as a full gym.
And for each and every individual exercise in the workout programs, I have custom exercise tutorial videos for you.
You'll learn the form and technique pointers you should be focused on so you can just get in, get the work completed, and get on with your day.
3⃣ It doesn't stop there. Because you'll also get access to exclusive course content on training and nutrition.
I want you to get an insane amount of value for Training Camp.
Learning the fundamentals is a big part of long-term success.
I'll teach you what you NEED to know.
From how to manage your diet and exercise programs, to stepping on the scale and tracking progress...
And everything in between.
The growing library of course content is an invaluable asset. This alone is worth hundreds of $$$.
Training Camp is my passion project.
It's an opportunity to help lots of people, and offer a MASSIVE amount of support for very low cost.
Each month, Training Camp ends up being ~the price of a T shirt.
So if this all sounds good to you, then let's get started!

“Easy” is what keeps you stuck.
It’s easy to say:
➡️ “I just don’t have time.”
➡️ “I’ll start when things calm down.”
➡️ “It’s too hard with the kids, work, and everything else going on.”
But that’s exactly what keeps most people spinning their wheels year after year.
Tired, frustrated, and unfulfilled.
At some point, you have to decide that easy isn’t good enough anymore.
Taking ownership is hard.
Building healthier habits is hard.
Changing your lifestyle is hard.
But so is constantly feeling low energy.
So is avoiding the mirror.
So is not being able to keep up with your kids.
The truth?
One version of “hard” keeps you stuck.
The other sets you free.
👊 Choose the kind of hard that creates the life (and health) you actually want.

This is the face of a guy who’s stressed.
And don’t get me wrong… I’m blessed to have this stress.
(Did I just make up a catch phrase?)
My Super Secret Project ™️ launches in 1️⃣ WEEK!
It’s exciting.
It’s nerve wracking.
And there’s a million things to get done without enough time in the day to do it.
And while I’m finishing everything up, I’m also supposed to be promoting the project so people like you actually notice it.
So that’s what I’m doing here 😬.
I’m making a post to let you know that it would mean the absolute world to me if you paid attention to what I’m launching on MONDAY, JULY 22.
I’ve been working on it all year.
I’m combining everything I’m passionate about into one space (hint: there’s elements of sports and fitness happening all in one place 👀).
And it’s something I’ve been working towards as a coach ever since I started my business 6+ years ago.
This new program has the potential to impact a massive amount of people.
I want to help as many people as I can to improve their health and fitness.
This is a major step towards accomplishing that.
And it’s also a major risk.
I’m putting A TON into the Super Secret Project ™️ because I believe in it so much.
There’s nothing else quite like it in the fitness space today.
And I hope that after launching, you end up loving it as much as I do.
So stay tuned.
REALLY exciting stuff is just days away!
😳

If I created a course for fat loss that would be a low-cost alternative to coaching, would there be interest?
I’m thinking a 14-day program.
✅ Self-paced
✅ Step-by-step process to lose fat
✅ Something you can do from home, or the gym.
Since I don’t currently have the capacity to work with more people 1-on-1, I’ve been brainstorming potential new ways to provide support.
TBH I’m kind of excited about this idea, so I’m really interested in your feedback!
