News and Analysis on the ongoing Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice & Fire franchise, books and TV series, including the prequels and spin offs, starting with House of the Dragon.

A lot of my focus is on researching what's going on behind-the-scenes: not just "reacting" to an episode or story elements, but investigating what the cast & crew reveal about how it was made. This extends to broader issues about "state of the industry" topics, which affect what projects get greenlit and which don't.

When I have time I also report on shows similar to Game of Thrones / House of the Dragon, the major competitors among "the most talked about TV and movie projects". Right now the only other one I'm going to try to report on is Amazon Prime's Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power prequel series, because I already know the books and backstory well enough that I don't need to re-read them, so I can make quick reactions off the top of my head.

First my episode 302 review was delayed due to copyright issue on another video; it’s delayed again due to July 4th barbecue party. It’s 1pm EST now and I have to run out the door; the good news is the audio is fully edited (exactly 19 minutes) and I just finished picking out all the image files I need, so it’s simply a matter of combining them - if I had one more hour I’d have gotten this done before I left. So when I get back late tonight I’ll finish, around midnight EST - I’ll post it immediately then so the Europe crowd 5 hours ahead of me can watch as soon as they wake up Sunday.

There were specific causes for the delays these past two weeks; I promise that from episode 3 it will be a restart ( much as episode 3 is the REAL season 3 premiere)

Videos delayed to tomorrow due to copyright issue. YouTube is really hitting everyone hard for using short fair use video clips. I was just using them to explain a concept. I’ll have to rework it.
