Jamrock's Learning Journey

Welcome to Jamrock Learning Journey— a global home for powerful Jamaican history, contemporary Caribbean dialogue, cultural reflection, and emerging technologies.

This channel brings Jamaica to the world through documentaries, historical narratives, Caribbean heritage lessons, and technology-enhanced learning experiences. From Taíno history and colonial Jamaica to reggae culture, resilience, migration, and modern Jamaican identity, each video explores the forces that shaped the island and continue to influence the global Caribbean diaspora.

This is a space to preserve culture, challenge narratives, empower learners, and show how history, technology, and education intersect in a changing world.

Jamrock's Learning Journey

🕊️ MARY’S SONG | A Cry for Justice

“For Mary… and every sister whose voice was silenced.”

This soulful reggae ballad tells a painful but necessary story — a woman trapped in an abusive marriage, suffering quietly behind public smiles and appearances. When her life was taken, the truth was buried under a convenient narrative. But fragments don’t lie. Silence doesn’t mean consent. And justice delayed is justice denied.

As Jamrock, we cannot only fight for our own struggles.
We must also stand for the rights, dignity, and voices of others as we journey forward together. Liberation means nothing if it stops at our doorstep.

🎶 Listen. Reflect. Share.
Because stories like Mary’s must never be forgotten.

Jamrock's Learning Journey

Hey subscribers and viewers,

A few of you have been asking about the songs in my videos, so I wanted to clear that up. The lyrics come from my own thoughts and life experiences, while the music and the singer are AI-generated—yes, AI. A lot of music today is created this way. I use these songs to add something extra to the content and to help the message really stick.

I’d love to create a song for the first two people who respond to this post. Just send about 100 words, the issue or topic you want the song to address (keep it clean), and the style of music you like (also keep it clean). You can dedicate it to someone if you want. You’re free to share the song, but it can’t be commercialized since I keep the rights and I pay to use the software.

Look out for tomorrow’s message and song.

Jamrock's Learning Journey

The Shore Is Ours is a powerful Jamaican protest soundtrack rooted in history, identity, and the fight for public access to land and sea. Inspired by the lived reality of Jamaicans who are increasingly blocked from their own beaches, this piece confronts the legacy of colonial laws, privatization, and exclusion that continue long after independence. Law before our independence now limit our access to beaches. Please share.

Dear community,
I want you to know that funds generated from the song “Rise After Melissa” were used to support an elderly couple in Jamaica. I was also joined by three friends who generously contributed to this effort.
Thank you to everyone who listened, shared, and supported the song—your engagement made this possible. I’ll be sharing upcoming videos from my recent trip to Jamaica, showing the reality on the ground and why continued support matters.
While this is a meaningful step, more still needs to be done.

Jamrock's Learning Journey

I’ve decided to start a monthly review of major events in Jamaica so we can document our story as it unfolds. Each month carries powerful moments—good and bad—that deserve to be remembered.

This is our way of keeping Jamaica’s history alive for future generations.
Thank you for supporting the journey. 🇯🇲❤️

October was a month of real growth for the channel, and thanks to your support, the song has now crossed 86,000 views. Even though I’ve never earned enough to cover the operational costs of the channel, the growth in October has given me the ability to put the little funds earned toward a meaningful project in Jamaica.
Please continue sharing the video—I would love to see it reach 100,000 views and beyond. Together, we can make an impact.
