Wild Allegheny is a channel rooted in the Allegheny River country of northwestern Pennsylvania — the ridges, bottomlands, creek beds, and plowed fields where people have been living, hunting, and leaving things behind for more than 10,000 years. This is where I search for arrowheads and artifacts, and where most of the stories here begin.
The channel is about slowing down and learning to read this particular landscape — the bends in the river, the overlooked terraces, the ground nobody else is walking. Arrowheads and artifacts are the focus, but the Allegheny has a way of pulling you into other things too: local history, forgotten places, wildlife, and whatever the land turns up next.
If you love this corner of Pennsylvania — or the idea of it — hit subscribe and come wander the Allegheny with me.
