I sometimes wrestle with self-doubt, especially when questioning whether sharing my journey with HIV publicly was the right decision. I had to consider how revealing my diagnosis would impact my immediate family-my wife, children, sister, and parents-before making such a public disclosure. Unfortunately, these considerations are common for many who choose to share their lived experience with HIV so openly, yet it shouldn't be this complicated or burdensome.

I hope my words resonate with you and help raise awareness, encouraging you to reconsider and broaden your understanding of HIV. Sharing such an intimate part of my life was never going to be easy; initially, I was overwhelmed with fear of judgment, discrimination, and stigma, but it was something I had to do. I sincerely hope that my honesty fosters a deeper understanding of HIV, demonstrating that it is a manageable condition.

This isn't just about my personal story; it's about transforming the way you see and understand HIV—shifting from fear to empathy and knowledge. It's about creating a ripple effect-raising awareness, dispelling myths, and breaking down stigmas that negatively impact millions worldwide.

I am just one voice among countless activists and advocates who choose to share their experiences publicly to combat discrimination. Our goal is to help you see beyond HIV-beyond stereotypes-and recognise the person behind the diagnosis.

Over the past four years, I have pushed my body beyond what I thought was possible-lifting weights five days a week, hiking every Saturday, and proudly raising the flag for HIV awareness with every peak I conquer.

I often reflect on why I do this. The answer is personal and complex: it's about showing myself and others that, even living with HIV, it's possible to lead a full, active life. It's about spreading awareness, correcting misconceptions, and demonstrating what people living with HIV are truly capable of It's about fighting the virus in my own way-through strength, resilience, and downright stubbornness.

I do all this because I genuinely care and want to create a meaningful, lasting impact. I've begun a chapter that cannot be closed-one that addresses HIV stigma, which can cause emotional pain, loneliness, and discrimination. I refuse to remain silent or passive. Instead, I forge my own path to stand up, to inspire others, and to change the narrative.

Monday 1st December, I attended my first World AIDS Day event, where we remembered over forty million lives lost to this virus. It was an honour to attend and to be a guest speaker. We will never forget.🙏❤️

Hey all! I’ve been MIA for a while, but I’m back at it again. I’ve been focusing on my new role as a support worker at a Charity called BHA, where I assist individuals recently diagnosed with HIV in navigating treatment options and emotional support. I can’t believe how far God has brought me over the past four years since my own HIV diagnosis, from feeling overwhelmed and isolated to now actively helping others on their journeys.
