Michael Fahey is a multi-instrumentalist from West Michigan specializing in Dark Americana and experimental guitar composition. Influenced heavily by artists ranging from Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan to Michael Hedges and John Fahey, Michael combines deep lyrics with experimental open tunings. Despite being primarily acoustic in instrumentation, Michael brings a uniquely ethereal atmosphere to the stage that leaves the audience guessing as to how an acoustic guitar can produce such sounds, let alone only one.
Shortly after college, Michael began performing duos in the Traverse City area and discovered a deep passion for small-scale performances. There was something deeply intimate about playing at wineries, coffee shops, and dive bars that he couldn’t put his finger on. Whatever it was, he wanted to make a career doing just that. Since 2020, Michael has performed at venues in Michigan, Rhode Island, Washington D.C., and Florida as both a solo and duo artist.
