Visualization is a form of communication, just like talking, reading or listening to music. With sight being our primary sense, visual communication has the capability to convey more information in a shorter time frame than almost any other type of interaction. Understanding this is a very small portion of conveying information to other people. You should know where your data comes from, what your customer needs to do with it and, how to package it and finally how to encourage an organization to embrace it. In order to tell a relevant story, there are several steps from data to decision; only one of these steps is creating a visualization.
VizConnect is a community call in which Data Enthusiast and Tableau Evangelist will share what key things should be kept in mind to make your analysis and storytelling more effective.

VizConnect

A special #VizConnect session with our #TableauPublic Featured Authors!

Here are some tips and advice from them:

Chimdi Nwosu - Get the feedback aspect for learning. I find it encouraging for anyone at any level to be involved with the #makeovermonday community!

Patrick Sarsfield - Coming up with your own style is like martial arts. Get a little bit better every day but there are basics to get early on that can be built upon.

Jennifer Dawes, MHR - The growth that you see from learning from one another is unmatched. I’m excited for 2021 and Her Data, the sky is just the limit right now!

Irene Diomi - I found the community really helpful and it has helped me grow! I want to get more involved with more Tableau community projects!

Ranjith Subramani - It is a continuous process, doing data viz and then getting feedback from people and learning from it. Experiment a lot and learn!

George Koursaros - This initiative to meet some of my fellow featured authors is amazing! It’s not hard to get into analytics, the community is really helpful!

Seahyun (Hailey) Kim – Ìt’s hard to prioritize so many things because of life commitments so I want to participate in #makeovermonday more in 2021!

#VizConnect
Join us on 25th September from 5:00 PM IST (7:30 AM EST) to learn from Alberto Cairo about THE ART OF INSIGHT: BECOMING A BETTER VISUALIZATION READER.
Charts, infographics, and diagrams are ubiquitous. They are useful because they can reveal patterns and trends hidden behind the numbers we encounter in our lives. Good charts make us smarter—if we know how to read them.
However, they can also deceive us. Charts lie in a variety of ways—displaying incomplete or inaccurate data, suggesting misleading patterns, and concealing uncertainty— or are frequently misunderstood. Many of us are ill-equipped to interpret the visuals that politicians, journalists, advertisers, and even our employers present each day.
