Amsterdam-based Joelle Charan released her latest single Still Portrait (String Orchestra) in January 2026: "'Still Portrait' is the memory of a snowy, winding English country road in winter. I remember that even in January, roses bloomed along the side of the road. The frozen sight of those fragile yet brave flowers was a metaphor for the loss of someone dear to me. You can hear a string orchestra on this recording together with my voice."
Joelle has built a solid track record of sold-out performances in the UK and the Netherlands over the past few years. Further highlights include singing in the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam for Festival Uitmarkt, Royal Theatre Carré as a soloist for Duizend Stemmen in Carré and Paradiso Amsterdam for the Korendagen with a black gospel choir.
