As a Real Estate Consultant, you don’t only need knowledge in real estate, you also need understanding in other related fields. Real estate goes beyond leasing ,buying and selling properties
It involves maintenance, safety, inspections, value preservation, and problem-solving.
Did you know that apart from my certifications in real estate, I also have certification in pest control?
Why did I learn pest control? Because pests can affect the value, safety, structure, and livability of a property. Issues like termites, rodents, cockroaches, and snakes can reduce a property’s appeal, damage buildings, create health concerns, and even discourage potential buyers or tenants.
Having knowledge in pest control helps me identify possible risks during property inspections, advise clients properly, recommend preventive measures, and help property owners maintain healthier and more valuable spaces.
In real estate, the more problems you can identify and solve, the more valuable you become to your clients.
Grateful to be part of the Impact Academy Business Growth System organized by @The Latter House, a powerful session focused on leadership, strategic thinking, branding, finance, execution systems, and sustainable business growth. From operational discipline to founder resilience, every module was a reminder that real growth starts from within.
One major lesson I took away: Your business cannot outgrow the quality of its leadership.
As a real estate professional and entrepreneur, I understand that growth is not only about making sales, but about building systems, creating value, adapting fast, and staying disciplined even in challenging times.
The journey continues. Learning. Applying. Growing. Building.
Just because you are a graduate doesn’t mean you automatically understand the basic rules of life and money. Some of the most important lessons about wealth are never taught in school or in professional certifications.
The difference between people who build long-term wealth and people who earn well but remain financially stuck is not always intelligence. It is not even hard work alone. It is financial literacy.
Understanding what a real asset truly is. Understanding the difference between income and wealth. Understanding that your salary is not your net worth, but a tool that should help you build one. Understanding that not everything expensive is an investment. Understanding that where you put your money matters just as much as how much you earn.
This is one of the reasons I respect Real Estate. Real estate teaches patience, value, leverage, cash flow, ownership, and long-term thinking. It teaches you how to make your money work for you instead of constantly working for money.
Every week, I meet people earning good money. Real money. But three years later, they have little or nothing tangible to show for it because nobody ever explained how money actually works or how to convert income into assets.
This is not just a conversation about becoming rich. It is a conversation about freedom.
Financial freedom is not determined by how much you make. It is determined by how much of what you make is building assets, generating value, and working for you even while you sleep.
Real estate is a proven wealth builder no doubt. But it can also destroy wealth if you’re not strategic, calculative, and forward-thinking. You can’t just buy any property or jump into any real estate investment. You need proper due diligence: ask the right questions, verify documents, study the location, and understand the long-term value. Most importantly, work with professional realtors who genuinely have your interests at heart. At the same time, don’t try to be overly “wise” by avoiding professional fees. A good property consultant doesn’t cost you money they help you avoid costly mistakes. In real estate, smart decisions build wealth; careless ones erase it
I attended the 2026 Real Estate Outlook, and it was truly insightful. It was Anchored by Wemabod Limited
Major industry stakeholders were present, including the former Vice President of Nigeria, who delivered a powerful keynote.
One key lesson stood out clearly: Inclusive housing cannot happen without infrastructure.
Access roads, power, water, transportation, and social amenities must come first or move alongside housing development. Without these, affordability, livability, and long-term value remain a challenge.
This conversation reinforces the fact that solving Nigeria’s housing gap is not just about building houses, but about planning communities
I didn’t start with connections. I didn’t start with capital. I started with courage.
At 26, I stepped into real estate with nothing but belief, consistency, and the decision to begin. No perfect plan. No safety net. Just faith and action.
Today, I’m 32, and I am building, a growing real estate firm driven by vision, discipline, and purpose.
To every realtor, broker, and agent reading this: Your current chapter is not your final story. Every call you make, every showing you attend, and every client you serve is shaping the future you are working toward.
Don’t despise small beginnings. Stay committed. Stay ethical. Keep showing up. Leverage the platforms you have. Use social media. Use LinkedIn. Use every digital space to build your credibility, your network, and your personal brand.
Exposure creates opportunity, but consistency turns opportunity into results. And above all, include God in what you do. Skill opens doors, but God gives direction, favour, and staying power. When He is involved, your work carries impact beyond money.
If you have started, you are already ahead of those still waiting for “perfect conditions.”
Merry Christmas to every real estate professional out there, may this season bring you peace, growth, and bigger testimonies ahead. 🎄✨
