UBC Learning Circle

The overarching goal of the Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Health's UBC Learning Circle (UBCLC) is to improve Indigenous health and to reduce health inequities between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in British Columbia and beyond through the ongoing delivery of sessions that feature Indigenous health & wellness topics (mental, physical, emotional, and physical).1) Learning Circles: Oriented towards health care workers in First Nations communities, Learning Circles generally focus on enhancing professional skills or sharing community knowledge. 2) Research Circles: Provide the opportunity for health researchers, academics, students, and professionals (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) to engage with communities in an effort to increase the transparency of the research process and enhance the accessibility to research results 3) Youth Circles: Encourage youth, aged 12-29, to connect and share their knowledge with each other and with health professionals via technology.
