Thembisile Praise, a visual artist whose mission is to preserve and reimagine African oral traditions, folktales, and indigenous knowledge systems through painting and drawing. My work acts as a contemporary archive, a space where ancestral memory meets visual language, and forgotten stories are made visible again.
Through my art, I aim to spark dialogue around the value of African knowledge, not just as history, but as a living, breathing force that can speak to people all over the world. I am interested in how myth, symbol, and narrative can be preserved.
My practice is about honoring where I come from, while speaking fluently to where we are. I carry these stories with me in the lines, colors, and textures of my work.
