Häufigste Ursache ist ein Schlaganfall, bei dem die linke Hemisphäre des Gehins betroffen ist. Wie viele Menschen derzeit in Deutschland von einer Aphasie betroffen sind, ist unklar. Es sind jedoch sicher über 100.000 Menschen.
