EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!! For those who have been wondering what the big project I’ve been working on was, it’s this film/documentary! This video is NOT about elevators. It’s about a very special place...a place that I spent my childhood and a place that I hold very close to me. As you know, Macy’s in downtown Sacramento is closing, and I felt obligated to do something to honor the store’s memory. This store has played such an important role in the development of downtown Sacramento and it’s such an iconic building that has had to adapt to the continuously-changing landscape surrounding it. I have worked at this store for nearly 6 years, and I filmed this video based on my personal experiences. I have been working on this project since August of 2024 and once it’s complete, it will go live on this channel in early to mid April. The video will be a little over 2 hours long and contain history of the store, colleague experiences, and a full tour of the entire building…back of house and almost every secret room included. Hello fellow subscribers!

I was looking through my files of videos to upload and realized that I have a dangerously massive backlog. This year alone, I have filmed so much new content and it only grows more and more as time goes on. As of now, I have over 2,000 videos to post which sums up to over 200GB worth of data. Don't get me wrong, it's great to have a backlog, but this is all taking up tons of space on my computers and hard drives. For this reason, I will be dumping a lot of content for the time being. You can expect the usual double uploads every day, but sometimes I may even post 3 or 4 videos in a single day! Enjoy the bonus content

A little channel update for you guys: Tomorrow's upload will be my final video...with the "Technical Specifications" section in the description (got you in the first half, didn't I). You may have noticed the increase in uploads recently. I plan on releasing two or more videos per day from here on out. The reason for this change is because I have a MASSIVE backlog, so much that it's starting to take up space on my computer. I have over 1,000 videos to upload and I have been frequently going on filming trips on my days off from work. Editing all of these videos takes time. In order for this to work, I must get rid of this time-consuming section of the description. I know some of you liked this part, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to remove it at first, but I can only do so much on my own. This is the only way I'll be able to push out content. Hope you understand. It's not the end of the world, and on the bright side, at least I'm not entirely quitting YouTube!

VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!
After many requests, I am making an elevator enthusiast submitted EPIC TRACTION MOTOR compilation!! This video will feature traction elevator motors at their finest, and the videos used in it will be contributed by all of you! If you are interested in contributing to this video, please read the following directions about what to submit VERY CAREFULLY or I will NOT use your submissions!!

1. Pick THREE clips from your files of TRACTION elevators with the best motors! This compilation is strictly dedicated to TRACTION elevators with epic motors. That means NO HYDRAULIC ELEVATORS please! These three clips should be elevators with the BEST motors that you have filmed.
2. TRIM YOUR VIDEOS! I don't want your entire elevator videos-just the part with the epic motor. Please be sure that there is VERY LITTLE TO NO TALKING (no talking at all is preferred). Videos with too much talking will not be accepted.
3. Please make sure each of the two videos are in LANDSCAPE format (1080x1920). NO VERTICAL VIDEOS! The highest quality is preferred. Grainy or choppy videos will not be accepted.
4. Once you have THREE TRIMMED VIDEOS of epic motors, email them to me at elevator2848@gmail.com. In your email, make sure to put your YT USERNAME IN THE SUBJECT BOX. This is the name that will be displayed in the final compilation. If your email does not contain this, I will not accept your submissions.

Please be sure that you follow all of these directions. I look forward to your submissions! The LAST DAY to submit your videos is August 21st!!

NOTE: This will be the final elevator enthusiast compilation until next summer, so if you want to be featured, now is the time!

Q: Can my videos be inside/outside of traction elevator machine rooms?
A: Yesm although a ride in the car is preferred.
Q: Can I submit only one clip? What about more than three clips?
A: It is ok to submit only one or two clips, three is just the max.
Q: What if my files are too big to send in a single email?
A: Send each clip in its own email. Just be sure to follow the directions by putting
your YT username in the subject box for all emails.
Q: What format do my files need to be in?
A: MP4 or Quicktime Movies work best.

Hey guys, I have a big request for the subscribers! I have decided to create an architecture/retail/hotel tour-focused YouTube channel! On this channel, I will be posting full store and hotel tours, as well as walk-throughs of any other buildings I find interesting. Documenting all of these places is just as important as documenting elevators because all of this will eventually be forgotten.
