🇨🇳Foot binding began in the Sung dynasty (CE 960–1280) in China. Young girls' feet were tightly bound with bandages, resulting in marked foreshortening of the feet. Although foot binding was first practiced by the elite, it had spread among all social classes by the time of the late Qing dynasty.

"You are the only woman in the province with big feet," he told Gladys. "You must take the job!"

Gladys traveled from one remote village to another.

He didn’t say a single word.. till she touched the hem of his garment!!

Weak, afraid, in poverty, disfigured by sickness, hated by the world, against the world she stood up for herself to touch JESUS!

Let that sink in.

📌So before you disqualify yourself because of what you did, who you were, or what they still call you behind your back— or on your face:

📌Remember this:

Your past doesn’t cancel your purpose!

Your past points to your purpose!

📌God isn’t intimidated by your mess.
He specializes in it.

📌That addiction? That heartbreak? That jail cell, bad relationship, or wild season you barely crawled out of?

He uses that to reach the people still stuck in it.

📌And to the ones sittin’ on the pew polishin’ halos instead of bringing people to the baptism pool… they should ask themselves:
“So… how many folks have I led to Jesus this year?”

📌Don’t you dare give up on yourself.

📌Keep pushing, keep fighting, keep on going…regardless who curses you and hates you..!

📌He knows you are behind him.. he is waiting for you to reach out!

📌You haven’t gone too far—you’re exactly who He came for!

Sometimes you just don’t value yourself.. the way God sees you.

God sometimes choses to remind you how precious you are to him through a complete stranger..

Got me standing in the grocery line tearful at a 16 year old cashier’s complement who knew nothing about me or my struggles.

If only you could hear how many times Jesus tells you,
“Child, I love you more than you can imagine ..
you mean the world to me..
and you mean so much to this world..
for without you…
destiny itself would have been something mundane.”

He loves you more!

She was born with club feet..
but that didn’t stop her achieving her dreams!

She studied hard, came to Mumbai from Kerala, found a job, bought a house in the early 80s and learnt to live on her own…

It wasn’t till age 33, she got married but she never had children of her own.

She was bold, independent and determined.

Often, she did not know how to show love or even speak with loving words, as she herself went through her own trauma… but her actions displayed that hidden love.

Her relationship with her own mother (my grandmother) was not the best but it patched up for the sake of the Lord in latter years.

I will be forever grateful to her for the willful heart to cook & communion with us every Sunday after church.

She stayed with me & my brother, for a couple of weeks when our mom was away… so many memories crowd my mind.

She was funny in her own way.. super smart & diplomatic but now when I turn back and look from a psychological lens .. I cannot overlook how much pain she carried.

We will miss you Auntie but know you are well and happy with the Lord Jesus.

When no one is there around you to lean on…
