The historical figures project is DONE. Altogether 13 shorts. These were hit or miss. Some got almost no traction, some did pretty well. ~2500 views, 150 likes, about 30 new subs. Next up is an isekai involving 90s cartoons, and then I have another jRPG trailer planned after that. Attaching a little hint... :D Won't be this week as I'm traveling, but once I get back that's the plan. Alright, have to go. I ate too much Korean BBQ and I am very sleepy.

So I'm rolling out the Historical Figures shorts over this week and next week. Have three out so far. Wanted to give everyone who pays attention to these community posts an update on what the plan is here.

So, I want to keep making jRPG trailers for you guys but big picture my plan is to work towards making original shows and movies. I think everyone knows that. So I want to branch out beyond RPGs and cultivate a wider audience. Of course, I love jRPGs and lots of my projects are going to be jRPG focused or influenced or inspired by jRPGs. But I don't want to just make 1-to-1 remakes of old IPs for every project. I want to push beyond what people are currently doing with this stuff. Also, I love jRPGs but I have a lot of interests, including film and movies in general. I don't want to get stuck and get pigeonholed into just doing one thing.

Anyway, here's what's coming up next. After the historical figures thing, which is giving me a lot of practice with getting facial expressions and lip syncing, which is sort of the point (also I really like Civ and these are some of my role models 😁), I'm going to do this really cool thing that's like an Isekai with 90s cartoons. Think like, Jumanji but 90s cartoons. Some of the ones you're probably thinking of, but also probably some you may have forgotten about but might be excited to see... So it's got some popular brands but it's also an original thing.

Then after that I'm going to go back to the core jRPG crowd and make you guys a really nice Final Fantasy 6 trailer, which is a game I really love and has been requested a lot. Kind of a thank you for continuing to support my channel, like the Legend of Dragoon trailer, which I worked really hard on for you guys because you voted for it :)

Normally I'd keep my cards close to my chest about what's coming up but I think few enough people read these posts it's still kind a secret even though it's entirely public 😂

It's really cool this channel has found an audience already and I want to make you guys happy but keep in mind I'm a creative artsy guy with a lot of different interests and ideas and I'm going to do things I think are cool from time to time even if I know people may not immediately get on board. But... That's something you want in your friendly neighborhood internet movie guy, don't you think? 😊

The next project is not a video, but a series of shorts that I'm calling the Great People of History series. I'm mostly doing this to practice with Runway's new Act One feature. Each historical figure is matched to a unique art style that was popular during their lifetime.

Thought this might be fun as a little behind the scenes thing. Here's what the Mega Man X trailer ended up looking like in the editing deck. Ended up being around 113 clips overall, pared down from about 600 images, plus voice overs, sound effects and music. One fun thing was creating the Maverick Boss overview toward the end, where the framed images zoom in, which involved a little extra editing. :)

Also, some fun stats. The Mega Man X trailer has a 91.8% likes/dislikes ratio, got 40 new subs, reached 2000 views in a little over a day (my fastest video to reach that amount of views) and has been watched for about 70 hours so far.

Thanks for continuing to support my channel. Before I do my next video I may do some smaller projects to practice with Runway's new Act One feature and some new tools that are becoming popular like Hailuo.

I'm always taking in feedback and I think the biggest things I'm keeping in mind for the next one based on the Mega Man X video are to work on consistent designs and action shots. These are both things Midjourney and Runway struggle with, especially with really complex and specific designs like Mega Man and Zero, but that's partly why I want to practice with some other tools, because I agree there is room for improvement in these areas.

RPG Movie Trailers

New video is coming. It's taking a little longer than I expected but I want to get everything just right. I can't quite call it a trailer anymore, it's more like... a short film. I hope people like it. It's a little different than what I've been doing. I've taken a franchise I think everyone will like, but I've put my own spin on it a little bit and adapted it into what I'm going to call an "AI TV Pilot."

I don't want to give it away, but I'll add a little teaser.
