I might do another rant. I felt confident earlier, -perhaps even combat capable- after a long road of recovery (2 mo. at this point) post-incarceration. The atrophy and physical harm may be healing, but the mental scars are still there. Time is most punishing of all. Being a contemporary man and an unconventional soldier is no more difficult than it was for previous generations, it is just a more complex, nuanced, and intricate maze designed to set the medusa free instead of entrap her. Pandora was set loose, and no one wants to take initiative and risk their necks for something that doesn't appear to have intrinsic value, or the sentiment placed in it that was removed because of political or social inconvenience.

I am not saying that I am the man to lead that charge and take initiative, but I am the man I want to be. Lead by example. Be forgiving. But don't ever forget how other people have wronged you as there are important lessons in those betrayals and manipulations.
