🔥 Your ADHD Brain Is Lying to You — Here’s the Fix
Most neurodivergent minds aren’t struggling because they’re “broken.”
They’re struggling because no one ever taught them how to interrupt the anxiety loops that hijack their focus, clarity, and energy.
I put together a free PDF guide that walks you through the exact 3-step process I use to shut down spirals fast — the same one I use even in high-pressure, high-stress moments.

Lately I’ve felt overwhelmed…and I’m celebrating it.
Sound odd? It is, but let me tell you the difference that makes this so important.
The magic is that right now, I am overwhelmed by a life that I once only used to dream about.
I’ve felt overwhelmed at many points in my life. Too many stressors. Too many responsibilities. And much of the time, I didn’t even really like my life. Working jobs that society told me I should work. Streaming tv that I didn’t even really want to watch. Drinking booze that they sold me because it would make me feel better.
Now, my overwhelm comes from learning how to manage my time in a business that gives me location freedom. It comes from the stress of new cultural and language challenges as I live in Egypt, a country I dreamed about as a child. It comes from the frustrations of dating with higher standards than I’ve ever had, choosing not to settle for less than I desire.
So yes, I feel overwhelmed. And I also feel grateful.
This is called a reframe. Changing the meaning of something in order to change the way we think about it, which means changing the we way we feel about it. It’s probably the simplest and most effective technique for transformation and it isn’t that hard.

I caught myself getting bored when I saw yesterday’s dive plan…the same sites again.
Classic novelty-seeking brain. I almost checked out before I even got in the water.
Then I remembered: we’re going to the Blue Hole. One of the most jaw-dropping dive sites on the planet. A place people travel across the world to see once… and I’m treating it like a rerun.
The truth is, every dive is different:
new current, new visibility, new water temp, new guide, new buddy… and a new version of me.
My mood changes. My energy changes. The ocean changes. That creates a totally new experience every time.
I’m learning the beauty of staying with one place, one town, one practice — and seeing it with fresh eyes instead of chasing constant stimulation.
Reflection for my ADHD / neurodivergent crew:
Where in your life are you bored because it’s “the same”… and what might shift if you looked at it with new eyes today? Drop a comment with your answer

And I thought my focus problems were bad…
Egyptian, Italian, crepes, waffles AND Sandwiches?
Has anyone ever told you that you are interested in too many things? It happens to me all the time. Sure, we only have so many hours in the day, and diving deep on one thing can help us to reach many things, however some of us just need to express our multidisciplinary nature.
Whoever Pizza Star is, he/she nailed it. Create the structure around your many passions. If you build the right system, create the supportive environment, you can absolutely hold your many passions with success. Don’t try to be everything for everyone, but you can be many things.
(Let’s see if I comeback next year and he adds on something like Cronuts…)

My Scuba Instructor turned in the water and looked at me. He gave the 👌🏻 OK signal and pointed up through a narrow exit from the canyon were had entered approximately 25 meters under the surface.
“$h!t…here we go again,” I thought to myself.
I had been through this narrow passageway 4 years prior, and it was both beautiful and treacherous. The walls of the exit are covered in soft and hard coral, and there were hundreds of fish swimming around in every direction (with the potential of poisonous Scorpionfish🦂 and Lionfish🦁).
I had been struggling with proprioception — the body’s ability to sense where it is in space without looking — which is especially important when surrounded by precious and dangerous underwater life.
After years of dissociating to survive and masking my way through life with high-functioning ADHD, reconnecting to my body in moments like this feels like both a challenge and a homecoming.
I was already feeling mild panic, having hit my 34m Maximum Operating Depth, causing my dive computer to start yelling at me. Any deeper and I would risk overexposure to increased oxygen causing central nervous system failure 😨.
The solution? Slow exhales. A hand on my chest to center myself. And the repetition of this phrase in my mind.
“If they can do it, I can do it too.”
As we ascended I felt my heart rate increase, my body tightened and I braced for impact, praying that I wouldn’t hit the precious coral.
On the verge of panic, I saw…
A SEAHORSE!
A tiny little white seahorse stretched out long, maybe 6cm in length. My inner child giggled and for a moment I forgot I was in panic mode.
My body emerged from the open water with hundreds of golden fish with blue tips dancing around it. My teacher applauded my exit, and we all gave each other the 👌🏻 All Good signal.
A smile came over my face (well, as best as it can with a air regulator in my mouth).
I had made it. All was well.
And that Seahorse was so beautiful!
This is why I dive. I have yet to find another practice that gives me the opportunity to connect with my body, sharpen my mind, practice calm, and awaken my inner child all at the same time.
Drop a comment if you have ever found an activity that does this for you!

Somehow things that are stressful for normal people are where I find my peace. How I feel after walking home from a day of scuba diving is hard to replicate. For my neurodivergent brain, experiences that engage every single sense, that challenge my mind and my body, that push me to my limit, these are the experiences that helped me to feel fully present.
While in the water, my mind is not worrying about my work. Financial worry never appears. Regret for past mistakes has no possibility of showing up. It’s in these moments when I feel truly a piece.
This is part of the ADHD paradox. We are wired differently. Hard things are seemingly easy for us while things that are easy for Neurotypical humans induce states of panic. For me I find peace at 132 feet beneath the ocean surface, perhaps that’s the same for a Neurotypical person while they are balancing their budget.
Give me a step-by-step task that is dull and boring, and I will skip as many steps as possible, mostly unconsciously. Give me a step-by-step task that, if done incorrectly could cause death… And I’m full fully present and likely smiling.
Welcome to the neurodivergent mind.
What society, labels as lazy, disorganized, or a failure is simply a person who is not in the correct environment. You don’t ever see comic book super heroes being hired to do someone’s taxes.

Feeling burnt out… or like your focus has disappeared?
For years, I thought burnout was just part of being “driven.”
But what I didn’t realize was — my nervous system wasn’t broken… it was overloaded.
When I stopped forcing focus and started regulating my energy instead, everything shifted.
I learned how to breathe again.
How to create flow instead of chaos.
How to trust my body’s rhythm — not fight it.
Now I’m inviting you to do the same. ⚡

Creativity doesn’t belong to us alone—it flows through us. We are vessels for the Divine, channels for expression.
When we surrender to what wants to move through us—and give it the structure it needs (pen to paper, paint to canvas, voice to song)—we allow the sacred to become manifest.
🙏 May this small prayer awaken the eye of your heart, so you may once again see and feel the Divine moving through your hands, your heart, your voice—and bring it into form with your Will.

The mirror doesn’t tell the whole truth. It only reflects the stories you’ve learned to believe.
A quick exercise:
1. Picture someone who loves you deeply.
2. Step into their body and look at yourself through their eyes.
3. Then look in the mirror and lock in what they see.
That’s your real reflection.
Not fear. Not doubt. Just power.
🔥 Follow for more practices to rewire your self-image and rise into your true self.
