Hello there, I am KUNJIKA VERMA from Uttarakhand " nestled in the lap of Himalayas , land of gods, one of the most beautiful northern states of INDIA". I am ARTIST by profession and love to color my canvas in RED & WHITE i.e. AIPAN.
Aipan is one of the most traditional art form of kumaon that are popularly drawn at places of worship, house and main entry doors. Theses artistic art form has great religious importance. The background is prepared with red clay "geru" and created with white paste made with rice flour "biswar". There are different designs 'chowkis' according to different occasions.
