Just pre-ordered Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons! It's a physical copy for PS5, managed to get it for $10 off with a Best Buy coupon... I'm planning on livestreaming it, or if not, then making at least some sort of video. See you then!
Just realized it's been two months since my last real video, figured I'd give a (somewhat long) update - I finally moved into my own apartment! Even the buildup to actually moving took a lot of time and energy, and beyond that, having to maintain the place and cook my own meals and stuff has me pretty wiped out each and every day, so I haven't really had the mental space or time to work on my videos. I'm also not sure the walls are thick enough around here to where I can narrate or yell "BAYONGA" without feeling like a weirdo... I'm thinking I'll just narrate in my car then, but even that is kinda "public", so I dunno.
To be totally honest, with this final step out of my childhood home and into adult life having to do all the stuff to support myself, I just haven't really felt the need to create anything. I'm surprisingly content to just do my work, spend some leisure time with myself or friends, and go to bed.
I know that's kind of sad in a way, but I've noticed myself wanting to reject the idea that in order to be something, you have to make something on the Internet. Getting big online and "making money just doing what I love" was an idea that's motivated me pretty much my whole life and especially when I was younger, but given the current state and trajectory of the Internet... yeah, I do NOT wanna become anything on here and don't think I could handle it if I did. I don't really feel cut out to survive as a creator on the modern Internet, I mean look at me - I'm longposting. Nobody does this crap anymore.
Not that I'll NEVER MAKE A VIDEO AGAIN or that I only make videos to get famous. I'm making the Bayonga Bandits series with the knowledge that the vids are probably never going to crack 1k views since I'm an obscure YouTuber talking about a not-often-discussed game series... I'm just saying, despite this being a series, don't expect any series-like upload schedule.
Just wanted to provide context as to why videos might take so long to come out even if they aren't that long. I'm not sure if anybody really cares but I just wanted to throw a bone in case anybody does, because I know the feeling of an obscure YouTuber I like suddenly disappearing without a goodbye. It sucks, lol. But yea, don't worry I'm still alive and DEVELON is in my heart LMAO, just need to find the right time and headspace.
BRO I WAS LOOKING FOR CREATIVE COMMONS BUBBLE BOBBLE FOOTAGE AND I FOUND THIS ABSOLUTE GEM, THE EDITING AND NARRATION AND SCRIPT IS GENUINELY 10/10 AMAZING & HILARIOUS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Also just wanna say the next video is gonna take longer than expected. Originally I was going to make it about a brand channel I think is a hidden gem, but after thinking about it a little more (and being forced to take a break bc I had a medical procedure, which went well but I couldn't narrate for a bit), I realized "wtf am I doing making a video advertising for a brand I have no stake in", so I'm ditching the video.
It was going to act as an intro to a new game review series I'm planning on doing, so I'm thinking I'll just start that series and roll this brand account into the vid as a mention. I have a new policy with myself that if I don't like the video even a little bit, I'm not releasing it, and that as long as I'm making these videos for free, I'm not going to hold myself to any arbitrary deadlines. So I'll see everybody when I see everybody ✌️
New channel branding! (JPEG compression on YT posts is NASTY though, look out) Poor Raven Team Leader didn't get a single video published under her, I think.
Some of you may have noticed I've been experimenting with branding for this channel - I want to distinguish it as my personal channel versus my gamedev one that I want to be more "professional". I could yap on and on analyzing the old and new logo but I'll spare you guys most of it (or save the yapping for the gamedev channel when I eventually get around to redesigning that).
The bird in the profile picture is Jumbo Bun-chan, who you can find in Yakuza Kiwami - I'm thinking I might switch out with random characters every now and then, because I don't really have a set mascot, yet I want something other than letters. Bun-chan's obscure enough though and has such a FIRE design to where I can probably just keep it as is.
Overall, I think I did a good job at making things a lot bolder. There's just more energy to it. It's simpler, but in a good way, not in a modern-logo-redesign way; I tried to keep my personal ideals of having color and some sort of depth. The swirl is inspired by both the Dreamcast logo and a little tiny bit of this old Intel Pentium 4 commercial animation that I think is really cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-UlB...
Also, in case anybody has ever thought about it - the orange has no significance. I just like the fruit and the color, so I made it work. I'm not from Florida or something lol
