In the Anthropocene era, human activities dominate Earth’s natural cycles. Clinging to old energy technology hurts our health and prosperity while threatening our industrial way of life. Carbon combustion acidifies oceans, which in 2050 will reach a tipping point for much of the plankton base of the food chain, possibly starting a serious collapse. We must back away from the carbon tipping point before we find out exactly where it was.
The Anthropocene Institute supports appropriate technology so we can reduce pollution while increasing prosperity for all of the world’s people and making more room for natural ecosystems.
