Maria A. El Helou is an architect who specializes in designing environments that respond to both the conscious and the unconscious dimensions of human perception, emotion, and cognition.
She implements her findings in projects, having initiated research addressing the needs of people with PTSD, depression, ADHD, neurodegenerative diseases, weight issues, posture issues, fascia stiffness, vagus nerve dysfunction, and various invisible conditions.

Maria is the founder and chair of the ANFA MENA Chapter & board member at the Human Architecture and Planning Institute.
In 2018, she published the 1st article in the MENA region and France promoting the WELL certifications to audiences.
Currently, Maria serves on the WELL Mind Concept Advisory at the IWBI and as Senior Advisor at City Space Architecture in Italy.
