I previously used the name 'The Primrose League', having come across it in an old quote and thinking it sounded like a band name. The trouble is, it was originally the name of a ridiculous Conservative campaign group created in Victorian times to give women something to keep them busy so they wouldn't demand the vote. When I first heard of the name, it had completely died out and lost its old meaning, so I felt safe in pinching it for my own use, free from any unfortunate associations in people's minds.
But these days, with nationalism everywhere, it could re-emerge for real as a political label, and I don't want to be associated with it. So the Primrose League has split up.
