MRW Directs is a hub for the work of documentary filmmaker and journalist Mathew Ramirez Warren. His feature-length documentary We Like It Like That made Rolling Stone’s “15 Must See Movies at the SXSW Film Festival 2015” list, NBC’s “10 must see Latino and Latin American films of 2015” list, and won Best Documentary at the UrbanWorld film festival. It has been broadcast repeatedly on the PBS show America ReFramed, and is available to stream on all PBS digital platforms. Mathew also directed and produced Eddie Palmieri: A Revolution on Harlem River Drive, an episode for the Red Bull TV documentary series The Note, and field produced several segments for the National Geographic documentary series Chain of Command, covering international migration through the Darien Jungle in Colombia and Panama, and ISIS recruitment among Trinidad and Tobago’s Muslim community. His latest project, Weed Dreams, was supported by the Berkeley Film Foundation, SFFilm, and the Sundance institute.
