Dr. Ismana Carney holds an M.A. in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz focusing on Comparative World History with a specialization in World Religions. She also holds a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California. She has taught college courses at various institutions for over two decades. She is also an award winning documentarian whose work focuses on Native American culture and spirituality. Her documentaries include: We Pray with Tobacco, The Iron Lodge: Native American Spirituality behind Bars and Chief Mountain Hotshots: Firefighters of the Blackfeet Nation.
