LO-FI SAINT LOUIS began as an experiment in 2004, with the goal of publishing regular video content online. In early 2005, the website was launched, and we started sharing videos with the world. We initially self-hosted our videos, as platforms like YouTube hadn't yet been created (YouTube launched in April 2005). Over the years, we've evolved and adapted our video series, starting with live recordings of bands in venues and moving on to the Lo-Fi Sessions, a series of one-take live videos at City Museum. In 2012, we introduced Lo-Fi Cherokee, a hybrid event and video shoot that captures the energy and diversity of the Cherokee district's music scene through the lens of multiple acts in a single day.
All of these videos are archived on our website, creating a unique record of a specific time and place in St. Louis's music scene. Explore our video series and discover the rich history of LO-FI SAINT LOUIS.

We have been organizing our library of videos into playlists by genre. So if you like a particular band, it should make it easier to find other bands we've had in the same genres. Lots of the bands in the different genres share members as well. So it's kind of interesting to watch some of these playlists and see some of the same people evolve over the years. Been thinking about different ways to organize our content in ways that make it easy for people to find organically.
Anyway, if you want to do something to help us out on the channel that won't cost you a dime, there are several things you can do. Share a video you really like with a friend on social or something. And the other thing you can do is go watch one or two more of our videos. The playlists should make it easier to find stuff you like. Word on the street is that this is really a much bigger boost for us with the algorithm than likes or subs or whatever. Who knows? Whatever you do, thanks for watching! We're about halfway through posting all the videos from this year. So more to come!
(Oh and this is a photo of Bill Streeter and a couple of characters that were hanging around and performing in the street on Lo-Fi Shoot day. Something about them reminds me of characters from a Daniel Clowes comic or something. )
