Bassist, composer and educator Jodi Proznick has received the Western Canadian Music Award for Jazz Artist of the Year, National Jazz Award for Bassist, Album and Acoustic Group of the Year, and three JUNO nominations for her CDs Foundations, Sun Songs and the Ostara Project, a group she co-leads with Amanda Tosoff. She has performed and recorded with many internationally recognized artists including Michael Bublé, George Coleman, Sheila Jordan, David “Fathead” Newman, Harold Mabern, Peter Bernstein, and Seamus Blake.
She is the Chair of the Jazz Department at the VSO School of Music and Artistic Director of the Summer Jazz Workshop and Sister Jazz Day. She has been a guest adjudicator and clinician at many festivals, colleges, universities, and conferences including the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. In 2022, Proznick was a recipient of the Lieutenant Governor's Arts and Music Awards, for her contribution to the arts community and music education in British Columbia.
