We rescue and rehabilitate animals that have been overlooked and unloved. Our mission is to show them the beauty of life and offer them a second chance at life. Our dream is to open an animal sanctuary. Every penny earned from this youtube channel will go directly towards that goal. Join us on this heartwarming journey!
Unleash The Paws
We are happy to share that Chance, a 1-year-old bulldog mix, is safe, as we pulled him from the euthanasia list at Carthage Panola County Pound. We were so excited to take him for a cheeseburger and a walk in the park.
When we walked into the shelter, no one was smiling. Everyone looked heartbroken, completely different from when we visited earlier in the week. One of the staff members quietly told us that another dog, Buffy, was also scheduled to be euthanized that day. That’s when we understood the heavy mood.
We asked to see Buffy, even though we said we really couldn’t afford to pull her. But once we saw her, so happy and wiggly, we decided to test her for heartworms. If she was negative, she would be coming with us.
While the test was running, we saw the look on the staff member’s face, that ghostly, heartbroken expression that said everything. She tried so hard to hold it together, wiping away tears. We knew at that moment Buffy was positive.
But then Buffy leaned in and gave us kisses, as if begging for a chance. And in that moment, we decided November 7th would not be her last day on this earth.
We opened the door to our van, and Buffy jumped in like she knew she was going to have an exciting new life filled with adventures.
As we were leaving, that same heartbroken staff member ran out smiling. She stopped us to make a generous donation to our rescue, and we are incredibly grateful for her kindness. People like her, their kindness and smiles, are what keep us going.
Both Chance and Buffy are alive today because of the compassion of shelter staff and volunteers.
Please, be kind and understanding toward shelter workers and volunteers. They are often blamed by the public, but they don’t want to euthanize. No one does. They do everything they can to save lives in a system that is completely overwhelmed.
The truth is, Texas has an out-of-control pet overpopulation crisis. When we moved here, we never planned to open a rescue, but after seeing so many furry souls suffering and abandoned on the roads, we couldn’t turn away.

Unleash The Paws
On Halloween, we picked up two dogs from the euthanasia list at Carthage Panola County Pound , a 6-year-old black lab named Obi, and his 10-month-old sister Puppo, who we renamed Sabrina.
They were surrendered by their owner because they “no longer had time” after having a baby. That in itself is a heartbreaking reminder to truly think ahead before getting a dog, especially if you’re planning big life changes like starting a family.
The following night, we noticed that Sabrina wasn’t feeling well. She couldn’t keep food or water down and was vomiting and having diarrhea. We tested her right away, and sadly, she tested positive for parvo.
This is the harsh reality of rescue work in Texas. Many shelters, like Carthage Panola County Pound, receive very minimal government funding. They operate as holding facilities, meaning furry souls are either adopted, rescued, or euthanized and because space is extremely limited, they simply can’t hold onto them for long periods of time. These shelters can’t just shut down for a year or even temporarily to do a deep cleaning, especially when they receive new intakes every day and new cases of parvo and other diseases constantly come in.
We want to take a moment to thank the staff and volunteers at Carthage Panola County Pound for continuing to fight for these animals every single day, despite being constantly blamed by the public for things that are truly not their fault. The real problem lies with irresponsible owners who abandon, neglect, or fail to care for their pets and until people start being more responsible and compassionate, this cycle will never end. Maybe stronger laws could help, but what we really need is for people to care more.
That leaves rescues like ours with heartbreaking choices , do we leave the puppies behind to be euthanized, or do we pull them, knowing they might be sick and face expensive medical bills we do struggle to afford, relying on the community’s support to give them a fighting chance?
But as long as we can, we’ll keep fighting for dogs like Sabrina. She and so many others deserve a chance at life, love, and healing.
Please keep sweet Sabrina in your thoughts as she fights for her life.
If you’d like to help Sabrina get the medical care she needs, please consider donating we will have donation links in the comment section below. We’re also attaching a copy of our invoice from today’s vet visit. The total cost for all her medications is around $600, and we will be caring for her around the clock with medications and fluid therapy. If she needs hospitalization, costs could quickly rise into the thousands. Every donation helps us give her the best chance possible. Thank you so much for your support!

Donald spoke yesterday at Smith County Commissioners Court on behalf of the voiceless, for the second time.
The Tyler Morning Telegraph just published an update on the shelter situation. Sadly, plans for a much-needed new facility are on hold while the county debates budget priorities.
Rest assured, Unleash The Paws will never stop fighting to end the euthanasia of abandoned pets. A huge thank you to everyone who supports us in this struggle. We couldn’t do it without you.

We weren’t planning on this, but when we saw these six little lives at risk, we couldn’t walk away. These puppies were set to be put down, and we just couldn’t let that happen.
Now, we need your help. We hate asking for donations, but with this unexpected rescue, we’re in urgent need of:
Puppy food

Collars

We just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who watched, liked, shared, and commented on our last video. Welcome to all our new subscribers – we’re so glad you’re here! And a special thank you to everyone who donated. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to rescue another pup in need.
Meet Oreo!
A kind family reached out to us after finding this sweet 10-week-old puppy left on their doorstep. Thanks to your donations, we were able to bring him in, and he now has a vet appointment scheduled for his checkup. Once he’s cleared, Oreo will be ready for adoption.
Thank you all for your incredible support – we couldn’t do this without you!

We will be having many videos coming out soon! We are a 2-person team that is doing all of the filming, editing, pet rescuing, adopting out process, transport and vet visits on our own. We donate all of our time for free. Unfortunately, the bills are more than we can personally afford. If anyone is able to donate, anything helps. Our furry friends need food (dog and cat), collars, flee preventative, dog beds, blankets and of course money for vet visits. If you are able to help we would greatly appreciate it. I'd like to introduce you to two precious puppies. Their mother abandoned them on someone's property. After reaching out to several rescues and being told they were unable to take them, a kind-hearted woman got in touch with us. Despite being at full capacity ourselves, we couldn't bear the thought of them ending up in a shelter and being put on the EU list, so we welcomed them into our home. The lady's little girl gave them names: Scoob (male) and Cupcake (female).
If you or someone you know is interested in adopting these adorable pups, please get in touch with us at info@unleashthepaws.com. Let's find them loving forever homes!

We want to thank Mandy D. for adopting Penny Lane. Since you took a chance on a rescue pup, you cleared a spot and enabled us to save another dog. Meet Rosie, she was dumped and wandered to our home just in time to spend the holidays with us. Without the support of our adopters, we wouldn't be able to continue to rescue more abandoned souls. Check out our website at www.andunleashed.com ,where we will continue to post updates about Rosie and our other fosters. #resuce #holidays #christmas

Unleash The Paws
Early this morning, we had one of those tough but joyful moments as we said goodbye to our foster dog, Abbey. She's on her way to join her forever family in Washington State. It's never easy to let them go, but knowing she's headed to a loving home that can give her the wonderful life she deserves makes it all worth it. We'll miss her, but we're so happy for her new beginning.
