Anya Liftig is an internationally recognized multi-media artist who works in performance, sculpture, and photography. Her work addresses themes of self-doubt, the cleavage of growing up as a cultural mutt, and the dark humor imbedded in the sometimes innocuous symbols of femininity. She currently approaches both her studio and performance practice like a mad scientist working at a lab--testing out various combinations, springing mouse traps for visitors.
Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, including performances and exhibitions at The Tank, Chashama, Galapagos, The Field, Eyedrum, HERE Arts Center, 3Lgd Dog, Mama Buzz, Incubate Chicago (upcoming), Mess Hall, University of Wisconsin Madison, Denison University, Yale University, Abrons Art Center and may others.
