"The Holiday of the Winter Solstice celebrates the presence of Spirit and the power of faith and hope that our visions of the future will come into manifestation.
All we can do in the middle of winter is pray and hope that the light will return. Winter Solstice is not about having the light. It is about carrying hope and moving toward a vision that we will work to make a reality.
It is a time of patience, like that of an expectant mother who can sense the spirit of the child within but must wait until the actual quickening that physical life is truly within her.
We must wait in the darkness of Midwinter, and this is not easy for most of us who are not comfortable with the dark, silence, resting and dreaming.
In the darkest part of the year when the days are shortest, Nature asks us to slow down and enjoy a cup of warm tea, to be with loved ones, to listen rather than to speak.
Under the ground the earth silently sleeps. Seeds rest in suspended animation, and the animals hibernate. In contrast, we humans rush frantically to the malls, stressing ourselves with activity when we really need to rest, dream and gather strength in our bodies for the coming season of renewal. For many people in the United States, taking the time to dream and rest is seen as a sign of laziness.
However, nature teaches us that resting, drawing inward for a time, is present in all living things. Rest is necessary for growth that comes later in the season.
The Sun will return."

As you begin to slow down and appreciate all the moments in your day, you start to think less and feel more.
You begin to find joy in everything, not just when you go to a concert or ride a rollercoaster.
You see everything as if you were seeing it for the first time.
You learn to truly experience life.
And that's when you realize that there’s no better place to be than right here, right now💛

No matter what challenge you're facing, remember you have a choice in how you respond. Trust the process. Speak to yourself with love and kindness. Remember you are strong. This is only temporary. The storm will soon pass and the sun will shine brightly again☀️

Nature is one of my greatest teachers. You can learn so much by simply observing it.
Trees don’t resist life. They accept each season and the changes that come with it. They're not in conflict with the weather. They don't go against the wind. They accept, embrace and adapt.
The sun never stops shining. It always brings light into this world even on cloudy days.
The river flows effortlessly. It moves with the natural ebb and flow of the current.
Clouds are constantly evolving, changing shape with each passing moment.
What if we put these lessons into practice?
What would happen if we too accepted, adapted, flowed, evolved and shined our light brightly into this world despite the circumstances?

For me, self-care is all about the little things I do for myself throughout the day.
It’s being able to identify that I’m feeling restless and need a break…😥
…and then actually taking the break because it’s so easy to ignore and keep working, getting things done, etc.✅
It’s asking, “how can I make this moment special for myself?”🤔
...and then light a candle just because🫶🏼
Self-care is being able to identify your wants and needs and finding ways to fulfill them💛
So ask yourself👇🏼
✨ What do I need in this moment?
✨ What action can I take to fulfill that need?

Found my name on this door, and it feels like a sign to share some random facts about me😊👇🏼
1️⃣ Speaking of my name, my mom says it was originally going to be Tatiana but she changed it to Vanessa last minute😅
2️⃣ I'm Mexican American🇲🇽🇺🇸
3️⃣ Spanish was my first language. I learned English when I started school🏫
4️⃣ On that note, being bilingual is confusing at times. My brain likes to think in Spanish when I’m trying to speak English and vice versa🥴
5️⃣ Nobody ever believes my age when I tell them. I’m told I look way younger…which feels nicer the older I get😅 Can you guess my age?
6️⃣ I developed a voice disorder several years ago and it was a very challenging time in my life. I thought I’d never be able to speak freely and effortlessly ever again. Today, when I get compliments on my voice you can imagine how much this means to me🫶🏼
7️⃣ If you tell me to meet you somewhere at a certain time, I will most likely arrive late...not too late...but definitely late. My timing is not the best🥹
8️⃣ I have a sister who is 364 days older than me. I was born the day before her first birthday. Growing up, people always thought we were twins👯♀️
9️⃣ I had acne from the age of 15 up until my mid 20s. My acne journey is what led me to start living a healthy lifestyle🏋🏻♀️🥗🧘♀️
🔟 My very first job was at a retail store. Folding clothes, putting items back in their place and making the store look nice were some of my main tasks👖👔👗
Ok that's enough about me, I’d love to learn something about you! Do we have anything in common? Share your name and a random fact about yourself in the comments! See you there😊
