Il Cibo delle Coccole means "The Food of Cuddles".
Indeed for me food must be like a cuddle. Not only because it gives pleasure, but also because it must be pure, kind, just like a grandma's caress.
I'm Benedetta, an Italian girl living in Zurich, and I love food in all its shapes (recipes, tastings, food travels, food cultures, food sustainability, food sovereignty, food pleasure, and so on).
Welcome to my Youtube channel where you'll find recipes, food tastings, food experiences and a lot of good vibes!

One of the main features of grannies' recipes is that they knew how to cook without measurements, isn't it? 👏😲
My mom does actually the same, her eyes work as a precise scale!
Now, of course for certain preparations there's no need to weight the ingredients, like for pasta, fish, or grilled meat, but wouldn't be great to cook also a nice sweet apple cake with the same concept?
That's exactly one of the reasons I enjoy to prepare my Granny's Apple Cake recipe: you need just one small jar of plain yogurt and a a few Rennet Apples. 🍎
Soft, humid and super easy, if you like to see how to use THAT yogurt jar for the whole preparation, then have a look to my latest video. 😉
(ps: as always, the ingredients list is written in the description box below the video)

Benedetta - Il Cibo delle Coccole
As I’ve shown you a bit last week, this Wednesday is going to be about a special recipe.
It’s not another super popular typical Italian preparation nor something fancy: it’s my grandmother Apple cake. 💕
Among all the reasons why this cake is special to me, there’s the fact that it was the very first video I’ve ever uploaded on my YouTube channel, almost 9 years ago.
I decided to remake it and to take the chance to tell you a bit more about my beloved Nonna Mari. 🥰
Stay tuned, but mostly (as always) STAY HUNGRY! 😋

Caprese Salad, Caprese Pizza...
Today is Caprese Cake!
Created by mistake at the beginning of the last century on the island of Capri, the Caprese Cake is a chocolate and almond dessert, with simple ingredients and an enchanting taste, also traditionally gluten-free.
If missed my latest video,m and you’d like to know how to prepare Caprese Cake, here’s the link to my recipe:

Time to learn how to make fresh Tagliatelle at home, with the pasta machine and with the traditional long rolling pin (because you never know, you might end up in a situation where you have to make Tagliatelle and nobody around you has a pasta machine! 😆).
Check my latest video recipe to learn the important steps to enjoy this traditional Italian preparation. 🇮🇹😋
Buon appetito!

Tomorrow I will not only show you how to prepare the authentic Ragù alla Bolognese (a recipe that has been officially codified in the ‘80s) but I will also tell the history behind this worldwide known Italian preparation.
And, yes, this is IT! 😍😋
The second video of The Dilemma of Ragù alla Bolognese trilogy is coming...!

Me when I had to add sugar in ragù bolognese sauce... WHY? 😂
Did you miss the first video of The Dilemma of Ragù alla Bolognese Trilogy?
Starting from a delicious but misleading Classic Bolognese Sauce recipe, I tried to do my best to explore together what's behind one of the most popular Italian preparations.😋

Now that my MacBook is finally fixed, I can finish to edit the next video recipes!
Be ready for this Wednesday, because I’m going to cook together with you what I decided to call Fake Classic Ragù Bolognese. 🙈
It’s going to be the first video of a smaller series about this typical Italian preparation: following a video recipe found on the Tube, I will replicate a nice ragù sauce that, however, has nothing to do with a classic bolognese ragù with authentic ingredients, as it was described. 😆
Curious to know more? 🤓

Well, since at the moment I have no chance to edit new video recipes (my MacBook Pro is dead, since I’ve updated the software. Hopefully the assistance will solve the problem soon), I’ll share with you more bread experiences... are you happy?! 😅😁
Have I ever told why and when I started to make my own starter? ☺️
It was January 2016.
In a cold and grey Reggio Emilia, I was feeling a bit lost since the graduation at the University of Gastronomic Sciences, waiting for job interviews and for the right professional experience that could make me dream as much as Pollenzo did.
I needed something to take care of: so I created Butch and Sundance (I wanted something better than Chip ‘n’ Dale. Plus I was quite a lot into Paul Newman movies at that time 😍). 2 sourdough starters, one with a touch of honey, the other simply with water and flour.
When I had to leave again my home city to move to Turin for a job opportunity, I brought Sundance with me and I left Butch to my mom, who makes her own bread since then.
Sundance is still a young starter, but it’s doing great, and it has always been with me, of course also here in my new Zürich life. 😊
Recently, thanks to a deeper study of the subject, we are making better and better loaves, it’s like we are learning and growing together. I know it sounds like I’m talking about a person, but, hey, a sourdough starter is ALIVE and your duty is to make it stronger without letting it die... so, well, kind of a person! 😅😁
Do you have your own sourdough starter? How old is it? And what’s its name?

If you follow me on IG and you have seen my stories, you might already know... if not, here what happened.
My not so young MacBook is officially having serious issues (maybe the hardware... since I updated the software today, well, I can’t use it). I’ve tried few things with a professional support from Italy, but at the end I can’t do anything but waiting for Monday to bring it to an Apple Centre and crossing my fingers.
I don’t know then when I’ll be able to upload the 3 next recipes that are all on my Mac. Maybe I’ll figure out a solution (iMovie on my bf Mac? 🤔).
But meanwhile, I’d like to remember together one of the last Italian recipes I’ve upload on my channel. Something that I’m sure it would cheer me up if I had here in front of me: #Bomboloni. ❤️😞
Soft sweet heavenly creations filled with silk velvety custard cream. This is the magic of Italian food simplicity. 🧙🏻♀️🇮🇹
