Mariposa Yosemite Symphony Orchestra

Founded in 2002, the Mariposa Yosemite Symphony Orchestra (formerly the Mariposa Symphony Orchestra) performs regularly in the small gold rush town of Mariposa, CA - and in Yosemite National Park, too - the only symphony orchestra afforded that honor in the entire existence of Yosemite, which was created in 1890. The orchestra is also responsible for Mariposa being designated the smallest town in all America with its own symphony orchestra.

The orchestra's CEO, Founding Music Director, Conductor - and driving force is Les Marsden. The orchestra's website is www.MYSO.live - and enjoys the organizational (partial) acronym: "MY Symphony Orchestra."
