In the episode, a petty thief’s heist at the Metropolitan Museum unleashes a curse when he steals a pouch of mystical runes. Those who touch the stones become enslaved by a self-proclaimed god, and the team’s fight turns personal when Eduardo is marked as one of the demon’s chosen followers.
On this day in 1991, The Real Ghostbusters kicked off its final season with the episode “The Treasure of Sierra Tamale.”
The Season 7 premiere sees Peter’s father return with a map to hidden treasure deep in the jungles of Mexico. Ray and Slimer join the hunt, but the adventure turns dangerous when winged spirits attack, forcing Egon, Peter, and Winston to step in for backup.
