We are Luca and Sara, an Italian couple of explorers and storytellers!
We are the first youtube couple adventurers driving from Deadhorse Alaska to Ushuaia Argentina with an old truck camper.
We recently became parents of our beautiful daughter Luce “light” ❤️✨
We started our project “LeAw – Leave Everything and Wander”, we quit our successful careers and we left Italy at the end of May 2017 with a luggage of 50 kilos, 1770 Euro each and a Canadian working holiday visa. We have been living on the road for 2 years and 9 months, exploring 15 countries, driving 70000km and giving our old Ford “Lucky LeAw” a second life.
We want to encourage people to get out and see the world and tell them to be brave and not be scared to step out of their comfort zone, everything is possible!

Good morning Beautiful People!
There won’t be a new video on the channel today.
We’re taking a little pause to spend time with family and take care of some things here in Sicily.
We’re always thinking of you and can’t wait to share the next chapter of our journey with you.

Good morning Beautiful People!
There will be no video today — we’ve had a very intense week.
We went to Catania for Luca’s MRI, the girls have both been sick, and since Luca still can’t lift or do much, it’s been quite a juggling act. We simply didn’t have the time to film properly.
Thank you for your patience and understanding — we’re doing our best and can’t wait to be back with you next Sunday with a new episode!
With love always,
Sara, Luca, Luce and Aria

💛 Luca’s Surgery – Our Story, Unfiltered
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing something very personal: Luca’s surgery journey. It’s a long video — about 1 hour — and I’ve chosen to keep the editing raw and real, just as we lived it.
This is not just a medical story, it’s a story of fear, strength, love, and all the quiet, emotional moments in between. It wasn’t easy to film, and it’s even harder to share — but we believe there’s power in telling the truth of what we went through.
Luca is slowly recovering, and we’re taking it one day at a time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your patience, your support, and the love you’ve sent us in these past few weeks. We hope this video brings you closer to our journey — and helps anyone going through something similar feel a little less alone.
With love always,
Sara and Luca

💛 Update on Luca – 2 Weeks After Surgery
Monday will mark two weeks since Luca’s surgery. It’s been a slow and tender recovery, with lots of painkillers, deep rest, and quiet days at home. Being surrounded by family has truly been the best medicine. 💛
Yesterday, Luca started to feel a little better — still weak and in pain, but slowly moving forward. We’re holding onto every small step with so much hope and gratitude.
Today, I’m sharing a video I filmed just before the surgery — a small surprise I prepared for Luca, something joyful that brought us both a bit of light during a very emotional time.
If all goes well, we hope to share Luca’s full journey next week.
As for me… I’m exhausted, of course — but so happy and grateful. The girls are overjoyed to have their papà back home, and we’re soaking in these precious moments together.
Thank you, truly, for all the love, support, and patience you’ve shown us during this difficult time. We feel it deeply, and we’re sending it right back to you. 💛
With love,
Sara and Luca

A little update about Luca ❤️
Today, after almost two weeks in the hospital, Luca was finally discharged. What a journey it’s been. He will now rest for a few days in Torino, and then—if all goes well—he’ll be able to come back home. Flying is safe, and the doctors gave him the green light.
Our little girls and I are counting the hours. We’ve missed him so much. Not having him home these days has been deeply hard for all of us, but we’re incredibly grateful he’s on his way back to us.
Now begins a new and very important chapter: recovery. The next two months will be crucial. For at least 6 weeks, Luca won’t be able to lift more than 5 kg, and rest will be essential. He’s still in pain from the surgery, and that might last 2–3 more weeks. In 6–8 weeks, a follow-up MRI will tell us whether the leak is finally sealed.
I’m ready to support him with all my strength and love, one day at a time.
There won’t be a video this Sunday—but I’ll publish the next one next week. It’s a very special episode, filmed over a month ago, before we even knew about the surgery. It was a happy, heartfelt surprise I planned for Luca—and I can’t wait to share that joy with you. While we take a little time to rest and process everything, this video will be a little window into one of our joyful moments.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being here with us.
Your love and support have carried us through the darkest days.

Today, Luca had his surgery. The doctors were able to locate and close the leak—a 5mm hole in a very delicate position. To reach it, they had to remove part of a vertebra and perform microsurgery with incredible precision. We are so grateful to the surgical team for their skill and care.
Now we wait.
It will take a few weeks to understand if the surgery was fully successful. For the first 24 hours, Luca must lie completely flat in bed, without moving.
Right now, he is not feeling well.
One of the known risks after closing a cerebrospinal fluid leak is something called Rebound Intracranial Hypertension—a condition where pressure in the brain increases after a long period of low pressure. It can cause intense symptoms like nausea, headaches, and blurred vision.
I just want to hold him.
I want to touch his face and tell him it’s going to be okay.
I want to take away his pain with my hands.
But we’re apart, and my heart aches in a way I can’t describe.
These past days have been a storm of tension, fear, and hope.
I haven’t been able to breathe fully for what feels like weeks.
And now, we’re one step closer, but still on the edge.
I’m exhausted, but grateful. Heartbroken, but hopeful.
So in love. So scared.
Luca is the strongest person I know. A warrior with the most gentle soul.
And I miss him with every breath.
To all of you holding us through this—thank you.
Your love has been like light in the darkest room.
We keep walking, together.
With all my heart,
Sara

A Little Longer to Wait
Today we were ready—mentally and emotionally—for Luca’s surgery. But due to an emergency patient, the operation has been postponed to Monday. We’ve been waiting all morning at the hospital, and now we’ll have to hold on just a bit longer.
The good news is that a professor will perform the surgery, and we’re deeply grateful for that level of experience.
The leak is located in the thoracic area, between T1 and T2, but on the front side—one of the reasons why it was so difficult to find for so long. The surgery will take about 3 to 4 hours.
We are apart again for a few more days. We hold our emotions and fears tightly—but also the incredible support you’ve given us.
Let’s all wait together until Monday, beautiful people.
Thank you for being here with us.
With love,
Sara & Luca

They found the leak.
After three intense and painful myelographies, today the doctors finally located the exact spot of the cerebrospinal fluid leak.
We can hardly believe it—it feels like a miracle. A huge weight has been lifted from our shoulders.
The third exam was especially tough, but Luca looked the doctor in the eyes and said,
“Please go ahead—whatever it takes.”
He is such a fighter, and I’m so incredibly proud of him.
We are deeply grateful to the amazing medical team here in Bern for their dedication, care, and persistence.
And to all of you—thank you. The love and support we’ve received these past days has been overwhelming.
You’ve helped us carry the weight of this journey, and we wouldn’t be here without you.
Tomorrow is the surgery. Please keep Luca in your thoughts.
With love and gratitude,
Sara and Luca

Update from today’s exam
Luca had his first dynamic myelography today, but unfortunately the exam wasn’t fully successful—the doctor wasn’t able to locate the leak.
However, they did identify a more specific area to investigate, and tomorrow they will try again with a second myelography.
We remain hopeful and positive.
Luca is a warrior, and he’s facing all of this with strength and courage.
We want to thank you, once again, for all the love, support, and strength you are sending us. It truly makes a difference—we feel it, every single day.
Please keep thinking of Luca tomorrow.
He sends you all a big hug.
With gratitude,
Sara and Luca

Today is an important day.
Luca is undergoing a very delicate and crucial exam: a Dynamic Myelography.
This is a key step in his journey—it’s the exam that could finally reveal the exact spot of the cerebrospinal fluid leak.
We kindly ask you all to think of him today, to hold him in your thoughts, and to send all your positive energy, prayers, or quiet support his way.
We hope with all our hearts that this exam will be successful, so the doctors can move forward with clarity and confidence.
Thank you for being with us. Your presence continues to lift us every day.
With love,
