Today we were ready—mentally and emotionally—for Luca’s surgery. But due to an emergency patient, the operation has been postponed to Monday. We’ve been waiting all morning at the hospital, and now we’ll have to hold on just a bit longer.
The good news is that a professor will perform the surgery, and we’re deeply grateful for that level of experience.
The leak is located in the thoracic area, between T1 and T2, but on the front side—one of the reasons why it was so difficult to find for so long. The surgery will take about 3 to 4 hours.
We are apart again for a few more days. We hold our emotions and fears tightly—but also the incredible support you’ve given us.
