One of Britain's finest medieval cathedrals, set within eight acres of lawn and surrounded by historic buildings and museums in the beautiful Cathedral Close.
This spectacular building is unique in being built almost entirely in one architectural style, Early English Gothic and has Britain's tallest spire (123m/404ft) plus numerous famous literary connections.Enjoy the warm welcome of our volunteers on a free guided tour of the Cathedral or discover the world's finest original Magna Carta, Europe's oldest working clock and the stunning living water font designed by sculptor William Pye on your own. Explore the roof spaces on a tower tour, climbing 332 steps to the base of the spire to enjoy the magnificent views across Salisbury or relax in our Refectory restaurant with a fabulous view of the spire.
The Cathedral also hosts a wide variety of special events throughout the year, notably art exhibitions and concerts.
