We moved to Dubai 6 months ago. ✈️🏡 After 8 years in London, it was a big decision.
London was home. It’s where I built my career. Where I met my partner. Where I became a mom.
But deep down, we knew - we wanted to be closer to family.
We went back and forth on the decision for months. Leaving behind familiarity, our routines, and everything we built wasn’t easy.
But here we are… and it’s going well so far. Dubai has given us a fresh start. A new place to grow, both personally and professionally. And most importantly, the chance for our daughter to grow up surrounded by family.
Big moves are never easy, but sometimes, they’re exactly what you need.
This weekend, we celebrated something really special: My mom Harpreet Sindhu’s 40-year career journey.
Forty years of showing up. At work. At home. For us.
She wasn’t just “working.” She was building something bigger. A life. A family. A mindset.
Watching her growing up taught me so much. 💛 That you can be ambitious and present. 💛 That being a woman isn’t something to work against—it’s your power. 💛 That no matter how hard things get, you don’t just give up. You keep going.
She made it all look easy. But I know it wasn’t. Now that I’m a mom, I get it more than ever.
The juggle. The pressure. The decisions. The guilt. And the strength it takes to keep going, every single day.
My career looks different from hers. But her example? That’s stayed with me at every step. Thank you, Mama. For being the blueprint. 💛
For years, hiring managers looked one thing - your degree. Where you studied. What "brand name" was on your CV.
But that’s changing fast.
A recent #Forbes article argues that AI is making MBAs less valuable. And honestly? I’ve seen it happen to me.
I did my MBA at Imperial College London, and yes - it helped open doors. But every opportunity I’ve had? It wasn’t JUST because of my degree.
🔸 My consulting job? Came from networking with strangers. 🔸 Speaking at universities? Came from the content I built online. 🔸 Building my business? Came from execution, not credentials.
Hiring is shifting.
Companies care less about what’s on paper. They care more about what YOU bring to the table:
🔸 Can you solve real-world problems? 🔸 Can you adapt to new tech? 🔸 Can you think critically beyond what AI generates?
That’s the real currency now. Skills > Degrees.
If you’re job hunting in 2025, here’s my advice: ✅ Stop relying on your degree alone - it’s not enough. ✅ Build real-world skills: communication, leadership, adaptability. ✅ Create proof of work - projects, case studies, personal branding. ✅ Leverage AI, but don’t let it replace your ability to think.
The future of hiring? Proof of work > Pieces of paper. Your degree is a start. What you DO with it is what counts.
What do you think? What’s one skill you’re working on this year? Let’s talk. 👇

Success comes at a price. It looks glamorous from the outside, but every achievement has a sacrifice no one really sees.
Failures, loneliness, self-doubt and tough choices.
Would you still chase your dreams if you knew what it would cost?
