The Ground Truth with Erik Jensen

For 20 years, I’ve been in the trenches of the renovation and home-building industry, seeing exactly where the promises of modern construction meet the reality of the job site. But I don't just look at a house as a stack of lumber and drywall. With a degree in Computer Science, I view every building as a complex system—a codebase where a single 'logical error' in a wall assembly can lead to a total system failure 20 years later.

In The Ground Truth, I’m merging these two worlds. I apply a rigorous, data-driven lens to the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of our homes. I’m not here to fight the goals of sustainability; I’m here to audit the methods. My mission is to ensure that when we build for the future, we aren’t just installing a 20-year subscription model into our walls. From the '100-Year Window' to the hidden chemistry of modern membranes, we’re digging past the marketing stickers to find the ground truth of what makes a building truly resilient, efficient, and permanent.
