I’ve tested my voice with all of the songs I found the one that fits my vocals the most so get ready, I’m kicking things off with a bang!!!! Feel free to leave requests in the comments down below.
Just watched Kpop Demon Hunters, and I LOVE IT!!!!! Awesome songs, character designs, the list goes on and on!!!! So if you wanna hear me cover one of the songs from the movie, go ahead and make your requests!
I know I said I’d make a video on Saturday and I missed it. I’ve decided as of now, my video posts will be completely random, depending on whether I have the time and energy to make one after I deal with school stuff. Thank you!
Sorry everyone, but my videos are gonna be moved from Tuesdays to Saturdays. With school starting, I don’t know how much work I’ll be dealing with so I’m making this change to be able to keep up with everything.
Capping off the era of “Classic” Barbie movies that ended with “The Three Musketeers”
Reasons for each choice:
1. Barbie: Mariposa- Mariposa was one of the first Barbie movies I watched and I even read the book. I love Mariposas look, especially the skirt, which resembles the petals of a hot pink sparkly tiger Lilly. The butterfly illustrations on her bodice are a nice cute touch as well, and I really like the ornate straps. Of course I have to give a shout out to when her wings transform bigger and more sparkly in the end, but I couldn’t find a good enough picture that could do it justice.
2. Barbie in A Christmas Carol- As I mentioned in my last post, red and golden yellow is my favorite color combination. Eden’s dress here is so gorgeous with that gold botanical pattern on the bodice, and I love the gathered skirt with the giant ribbon, since it seems to have been designed as a tribute to the classic annual Christmas Barbie dolls that are released every year.
3. Barbie presents Thumbelina- I couldn’t leave out Thumbelina. Her dress is so cute and simple with the green straps and shades of pink, and the little flower on the bodice. And the petal wings she wears on her back make a good finishing touch.
4. Barbie and the Three Musketeers- Last but not least, the daughter of D’Artagnan herself: Corrine. I like Corrine’s ballgown with the mask, but I believe the version with the short skirt is more iconic. The simplicity of this version of her pink dress is suitable for a stylish yet more functional look for a sword wielding musketeer. The shades of pink really make the design pop, especially with the rhinestones in the middle of the bodice. I also love it’s puffed short sleeves and the pink gem in the center of the chest. And I would love to mention real quick that I think Corrine’s crown braid and bun look, short hair and long hair versions, is my favorite hairstyle of any of the other Barbie characters!
1. Barbie in The Twelve Dancing Princesses: Genevieve’s dress is a many among Barbie fans, and I myself am no exception: Unlike many of the other Barbie dresses which use her signature pale or carnation pink, Genevieve’s dress has a cherry blossom reddish pink that I adore, and the white bodice is my absolute favorite bodice design, with the white giving the dress a gorgeous two tone color look. I also like the gold embroidery and the ballet skirt silhouette.
2. Barbie in The Island Princess: I love the shade of turquoise blue used for this dress, which is a nice change from the usual pink. I like how the top looks like it’s made from blue crushed velvet. The pink details on the bodice seem to look like waves cascading on an island shore, which is suit Rosella. And I always appreciate an abundance of glitter.
3. Barbie in The Diamond Castle: Growing up, I felt obligated to choose Liana’s dress since she’s Barbie’s character and it’s pink. But now that I’m grown up, I admit that Melody’s dress is my true favorite. Red has always been my all time favorite color and I love when it is paired with gold detail, so seeing Melody’s dress just makes my heart sing! Since Melody and the muses are based on the figures from Greek mythology, it seems appropriate that their looks have a Grecian theme, and the way it is designed on Melody is beautiful, especially with her hairstyle. If you look at Melody’s necklace, you’ll notice that the gem looks like it’s embedded in a lyre, which suits the movies musical theme.
My third list Reasons for each choice 1. Barbie: Fairytopia- This is a case of Oldie but goodie, I like how Elinas dress looks like the petals of a peony, like the flower she lives in. It seemed a bit plain throughout the film until she got her wings, which also look like peony petals and completed the look, along with the necklace.
2. Barbie: Fairytopia, Mermaidia- This is my absolute favorite of Elina’s looks. I love the rose theme as well as the shade of pink used. My favorite part of course is the redesign on her wings, which have a pattern reminiscent of mermaid scales, appropriate for the mermaid theme of the movie.
3. Barbie: Fairytopia, Magic of the Rainbow- I apologize to all of those who like Elina’s rainbow dress and wings, but Lumina’s look is my favorite in this movie. The skirt has such a nice and simple sparkly sheer petal design, and I love the moon piece and swirls on the bodice. I love the overall celestial look of the ensemble.
