Capping off the era of “Classic” Barbie movies that ended with “The Three Musketeers”

Reasons for each choice:

1. Barbie: Mariposa- Mariposa was one of the first Barbie movies I watched and I even read the book. I love Mariposas look, especially the skirt, which resembles the petals of a hot pink sparkly tiger Lilly. The butterfly illustrations on her bodice are a nice cute touch as well, and I really like the ornate straps. Of course I have to give a shout out to when her wings transform bigger and more sparkly in the end, but I couldn’t find a good enough picture that could do it justice.

2. Barbie in A Christmas Carol- As I mentioned in my last post, red and golden yellow is my favorite color combination. Eden’s dress here is so gorgeous with that gold botanical pattern on the bodice, and I love the gathered skirt with the giant ribbon, since it seems to have been designed as a tribute to the classic annual Christmas Barbie dolls that are released every year.

3. Barbie presents Thumbelina- I couldn’t leave out Thumbelina. Her dress is so cute and simple with the green straps and shades of pink, and the little flower on the bodice. And the petal wings she wears on her back make a good finishing touch.

4. Barbie and the Three Musketeers- Last but not least, the daughter of D’Artagnan herself: Corrine. I like Corrine’s ballgown with the mask, but I believe the version with the short skirt is more iconic. The simplicity of this version of her pink dress is suitable for a stylish yet more functional look for a sword wielding musketeer. The shades of pink really make the design pop, especially with the rhinestones in the middle of the bodice. I also love it’s puffed short sleeves and the pink gem in the center of the chest. And I would love to mention real quick that I think Corrine’s crown braid and bun look, short hair and long hair versions, is my favorite hairstyle of any of the other Barbie characters!
