Welcome, I'm Adriana!

Sugarologie is an inclusive community for learning about the intersection of baking and science. I make in-depth videos and tutorials (mostly on YouTube), I’ve built Cakeculator (a free tool for building cake recipes), and I also write on Substack about the recipe development process.

A bit about me: I've been a home baker for several years, and I'm also a scientist (MS in Micro/Immunology; PhD in Biochem/Molecular Biology). As such, I use my extensive training to develop recipes through a scientific lens.

I love researching the interplay of all the macromolecules (proteins, starches, sugars, fats). This is where I enjoy working and why I don’t publish recipes as often as I’d like! I will do my best to understand as much as possible before I pass the knowledge on to you.

Don't worry, though, you don't need any special background or experience to bake with me. We are all learning here (even me!), and all levels of baking are warmly welcomed! Happy Baking 🍓
