Fatoumata Diawara is a Grammy-nominated Malian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and actress, recognized as a genre-defying artist whose music blends Wassoulou traditions with modern influences. She first gained attention through film and theatre before releasing her debut album Fatou in 2011, which established her internationally.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with major global artists such as; Damon Albarn, Herbie Hancock, Roberto Fonseca, Disclosure, Oumou Sangaré, Gorillaz as well as -M- and the collective Lamomali, across many genres, reflecting her strong commitment to cultural dialogue.
In 2026, she became the first Black woman to sign a signature guitar with Gibson Epiphone, further affirming her global impact.
