If you're struggling to restart or get started in your fitness journey, it's most likely because...
1. You don't know where to workout.
Some people decide to go to the gym, some people decide to run, while others prefer to workout at home. Wherever that is, you need to pinpoint an area or space where you will be working out. If it's at home, pick a corner or spot where you can move freely. If it's outdoors, pick a location that makes you happy. If it's at the gym, pick a good one with the equipment you need and a friendly community. Come back to it whenever you're ready to work on yourself.
2. You don't have a plan.
Babe, if you have a fitness goal, you need a plan. Having a plan will help you stay consistent in your journey. This plan should take into consideration your current fitness level and include progression. You can make one for yourself or you can approach (certified) personal trainers who have trained and studied the science behind this and can make you a program or a plan that will get you to your goals. Without a plan, you'll be lost, jumping from one exercise to another and that can get old real quick or if it's not a well-thought out program, it *knocks on wood* can do more damage than good. Every plan needs balance for overall muscle and strength distribution.
3. You don't have a goal.
A lot of people come to me and say that they just want to improve general fitness. That's a great goal! But in order to come up with a plan for yourself, you need to dive deeper into what 'general fitness' means for you as it's not a one-size fits all for everybody. If you don't have a goal, you'll find you're never going to push yourself because you won't feel the need to. Fitness, as is with life, is all about evolving. If you're not growing, there's not much of a point.
4. You are not motivated enough or you are shy.
Find someone you're comfortable with to come along in this journey with you. It can be your best friend, your partner, or your personal trainer. This person should help keep you accountable.
Fitness shouldn't be a chore. It is a way of life and is something everyone must be doing for their health. Get started today!
