This is my current menopausal grandma body (on the right). Age 53. Four kids, 3 by c-section. The pic on the left was day one of my fitness journey.

I don’t usually wear crop tops and short shorts on social media 😅 but I do take pics like this occasionally to document my maintenance progress.

Fun fact… I barely do squats. I just don’t enjoy them very much. Yet I’m happy with my glutes and thighs from doing the gentle leg and glute exercises you see on my page here and inside The Josie App.

Also, no meno belly in sight. But I had to really work for that. After losing over 40 pounds, my stomach became a real challenge again when perimenopause first hit. I had to figure some things out and adjust the way I exercise and eat. Strength training became a bigger priority opposed to doing a bunch of cardio, continued deep core exercises, and I had to eat much cleaner.

Unfortunately my arms also lost a lot of muscle tone when I tore my rotator cuff in two places. Now that I’m pain-free, my goal is to carefully keep rebuilding my arm strength and improving tone and definition.

And despite what some say, cellulite and crepey skin can improve when you stay consistent with strength workouts, lymphatic care, collagen supplementation and proper eating in general. My legs honestly look better now than they did in my late 30s.

My Reels show example exercises, and the full length workouts I do are shared in The Josie App. Nothing hardcore. Just simple and doable with encouraged consistency.

Have you ever walked the mall before the stores open? You can easily get in a peaceful mile or two. Especially convenient for when the weather is bad but you still want to get out. Only other walkers around, usually very friendly elderly people. I leave before the stores actually open. I don’t shop.
