I’m Ellen Benfatti, a painter and author exploring the relationship between trauma, creativity, and the human capacity to transform. For years, I lived in survival mode. Art became the place where my nervous system learned to breathe again. Writing became the way I put language to experiences I once couldn’t speak.
My book, Memoirs of a Butterfly, shares that metamorphosis. My paintings reflect it.
Here I post shorts from my studio, my healing work, and the moments where creation and recovery meet.
