Zenîma is an alternative singer, songwriter and musician born on 1969 in Viersen, Germany.
Many long years have passed since her symphonic debut with "Butterfly-Mad Kate" (1995) [from the illustration for Cowper's "The Task" (1785) by Henry Füssli (1806-1807)], where powerful, almost violent, vocals that recall Beth Gibbons mingle with a surprising sweetness.
Zenîma's voice led consecutively to comparisons with artists such as Rickie Lee Jones and Suzanne Vega. It's shocking how few tricks there are in her vocal moods.
Many years have passed but only in ordinary time... **The Sphinx-girl from the North** is back, closing distances and advancing the new. In her splendid vocal timbre, many have heard a likeness with Kate Bush and other nordic sirens, and in her expressiveness, someone with a strong inner instinct for personal regeneration and conservation.
Her guest appearances include collaboration with Andrea Bocelli, Samuele Bersani, Club Dogo and many others.
Her writing appearances include collaboration with Kate Bush, Andrea Bocelli, Metric, Christopher Cross and other.
She is also accomplished in fields such as music for commercials Advertising and soundtracks short films, at times using other pseudonyms.
Zenîma is a vegetarian & vegan-oriented. She is known to be winsome and reserved at the same time: she not likes be showy and gives a very few interviews.
She is currently working on a new CD Album.
Zenîma is back, offering us the keys to enter the unexpected and irregular topography of her high sound coefficient universe... à bout de souffle.
More news about album release and tour dates out soon.
